(Inside the Enterprise)
Data: "Captain, although the readings don't make any sense, there still has to be a logical explanation."
Picard: "Well, maybe so. But trust me, I have seen this pink fellow before, and whenever it's part of any equation, logic itself often becomes illogical. So: maximum speed, set Phasers to Rock, and turn right all the time!"

So, as you can see this picture was greatly inspired by the most likely most famous pixel in this site: the Colossal Katamari made by Snake.
Ever since I first saw it a few years ago I wanted to do something similar; a Katamari ball with objects and popular characters attached to it. And so, now I have done it, Ta-Daa; a Kirby Ball with all sorts of crazy stuff going on around it, a Colossal Kirbymari. :)
And it turned out pretty good I think, although maybe not so super epic as the inspiration. But I had fun drawing all this stuff; before this I have never drawn Sonic, Vader, Optimus, Dr Doom, Gamecube or even a stormtrooper or the enterprise...a realization which makes me bit worried actually lol.
For references I used various sources from the internet, comics, my own GC, and the enterprise model I almost directly copied from the back cover of Star Trek Conquest.
And the idea for the clouds, the spiralling sky dome viewpoint thing, was also inspired by the Colossal Katamari, although I don't know if I quite managed to reach achieve the same level of awesomeness here, but at least I tried. :)
Made during a time period of a week and a half, WIP stages can be seen here:
