Test animation for a project that I am working on. I'm very new to pixel art and is my first post on here. Any creative criticism would be greatly appreciated

Noted. I've removed the work and will work on acheiving similar effects with a more linited pallete and dithering techniques. Will let you know when its up so you can marvel at how awesome I have become  Thanks for the critique

If you're going to use tools like gradients and opacity effects, use a format that preserved their smoothness. Reducing the colour count automatically looks bad. If you need a small colour count and can't have the thousands-millions of colours created by those tools, then create the effects by hand, controlling the colours directly (the "pure" pixel art approach) - that'll look better than an auto-reduced image and probably result in far fewer colours.

On a related note: on PJ, only "pure" pixel art is allowed. While tools like gradients can be good additions to some pixel art, such hybrid work isn't allowed on PJ.
