Wow this is a tileset!? Seems seamless ;) Great work and black and white can always count on extra kudos from me ^___^
It's probably deceptive, then; i'm actually constantly surprised at the different variations and ways i can use the tiles I have.
That wasn't what I meant. I mean that your tile patterns may be limiting to build from. But it is hard to tell in such a small sample size and without seeing the individual tiles for reference.
I did specifically say "some". it's far from a complete set, these were just the specific pieces that i was testing.
I don't really see how this would make a tileset, seems very limited, maybe a larger sample would better demonstrate. The trunks are nice but the leaves and ground don't fit in and are not as organic looking.
I think that the tiles would be more pleasing to the eye if you utilized pixel chunks more. Would get rid of a lot of the noisyness imo. Or even if you just cut back on the dithering on the ground and only used it for the shadows underneath the trees.
I also think the foliage on the trees is a bit chaotic. I really love the trunks though : )
