As for the lack of fluidity, I agree entirely. Three of the five animations in this gif are only four frames long, the other two are six. I charged by frame and this is what the client said he was comfortable with.
While I'm used to using four frames for my personal sprites, this one was more complicated than I'm used to and I'd have preferred a few more frames. The hair alone could use more. >.<
The run is just a disappointment for me, really. I was told to follow a specific reference and I don't think I did it justice, but the client was happy with it so I was told not to fiddle with it anymore.
I really like the sprite, and I like how much character you've put into the motions, but they're really lacking in fluidity. With this many frames you should be able to get it much smoother.
