Thanks mate! Glad you like it.
I really like your pieces as well btw! :)
Thanks for your comment.
I wasn't really happy with that either but you exactly got it, I ended up doing it this way for the viewer(even if it's odd and kind of illogical).
But you can also imagine, if you want your brain to interpret it with consistency, that there are several lamps by "blocks", like this:
..- - - - - - - - - - - -
/ \ / \ / \
;)
This is creepy and looks great. I agree that it has a certain Silent Hill feel to it.
I think it would have been better if the frames in which light is right on the top of the figures didn't get stuck and repeat a few times. It looks as if the light follows his movement and stops after a second. Otherwise it would have been a more fluid transition. I guess you wanted to give the viewer some time to see the details there.
Thanks mate! Very glad you like it!
As for his head, I wanted too make it looks stressed, restless, with twitching and jerking movements. While I wanted his body to look apathetic and rickety but under pressure.
Also, I like that it gives the animation a "chopped" result because, imo, it brings an old movie's feeling.
I'm not sure if someone else sees it like that but I'm ok with the way it looks. :)
Anyway, thanks again for the kind words!
This is really neat, cynips, awesome work!
The head on the walking guy has a bit of a twitch really far to the right which I think would look better with an extra frame in between but at the same time I think the janky animation adds to the creepy feeling of it... In any case, looking forward to your next piece buddy!
No worries!
Absolutely, that's what good art is all about imho. ;)
Thanks for this comment mate! It means a lot to me, I'm really glad you like it. :)
Also, that's funny how the same piece can bring back very different memories and cultural references from person to person.
I get some serious Silent Hill vibes from this. Absolutely fantastic piece, buddy! In particular lighting, texture and creativeness are really staggering.
Your style is great, and it has become very recognizable.
@everyone: Thanks a lot for your kind comments! :)
@moondrome: That's a flattering comparison.
@rhlstudios: Thanks and yes it's on purpose, so @Peyton I will keep it like that. ;)
@Worriedcat: said Worriedcat. :D
I love it. I dunno if it's choppy on purpose or not, but it works perfectly with this. Love love love
Cool stuff. Some more frames to smooth it out would make it even better.
Holy crud, that's creepy. But it looks real good! Excellent work!
really cool animation and style. I see some david Lynch here
It's not only technically very impressive, it is also extremely stylish, atmospheric and creative!
