I added the little light effect in the gun to have some fake recoil :D
I guess in the game there will be some final adjustments.
Nice walk...the shooting looks kinda wierd because the arm is perfectly still...
but i like it ^^
Such effects aren't necessarily bad or a problem, they're just not allowed on PixelJoint because they're NPA - Not Pixel Art.
I didn't notice any transparency effects in your previous effect, but that may have been because I couldn't get a look at it zoomed in. All I saw was gradients, which should be easy to do with a controlled number of colours.

I did the pixel in PS and thought it would be no problem (or even a cool effect) if i do smoke and plasma with transperancy. Well obviously no good idea. In PS it looks good.. Is there a way to have the same effect without exploding the colourrange?
By the way. What means NPA?
Could you please post a close crop, without all that empty space on the sides? The character ends up off-screen if you zoom in on this image.
The gradient effect on the plasma or whatever it is that comes out of the character's gun appears to be NPA - the colour count explodes on those frames, full of whites and pale blues only used for a couple of pixels each. For something so small and so quick, you shouldn't need more than 3 colours for the whole effect.
Hmm..i am not sure if it looks better with the fake rocoil...i think it looks worse..
