I respect that decision. There are plenty of older game pieces that use pillow shading and still look great. It's all about personal preference and the effect you are trying to create.

Also, when replying to a comment, use the reply button to the lower right of the comment you want to reply to. A message will come into my inbox telling me that someone replied and makes it a little easier to follow-up.

I liked the jaggy edges so I stayed away from AA. Gave it a bit more retro feel. Somehow ^^' But you are right... I hould probably have shifted one of the edges a pixel to reduce banding, Now that you mention it, it actually bugs me, too :D

You've got a whole lot of stuff going on in that one icon. It's great stuff. Some minor things you might be able to fix is the banding occuring in the area of the metal tile being pulled out. Some AA would also help get rid of the jagged lines.
