Pixel Art Challenge: Radiant Orchid

The colour gods at Pantone have ordained that the colour of the year is Radiant Orchid. So, this week, the task is to use that colour within the orchid shaped canvas shown below.

You can pixel anything you want, you can even just pixel an orchid if you want to be really boring.

Canvas Size - Use the template above.
Colours - Max 18. Must use the colour above (#b163a2).
Transparency - Required (only outside the template shape though).
Animation - Optional.

The challenge thread will have all the challenge updates. The thread is also a great place to post your WIPs.

"You can pixel anything you want", but I think this would kind of break the purpose of the challenge.

Are we allowed to tilt/flip the canvas, or does it have to remain in it's original position?

Petruszka (Level 2 Flatfoot) @ 1/6/2014 13:36

I solved it now, I had to adjust it in paintbrush first. Still not sure what the problem was.

I have a problem with downloading the template. I use Graf2X and when i open the downloaded png, I have the whole violet picture without the shape.

The item(s) inside the canvas don't need to fit the shape, right? So while an orchid would fill up everything, would a tiny face in the middle still count, if the rest is background?

It could be Cthulhu wearing a sombrero.
