Create seven portraits/emoticons within a single canvas. Each portrait must correspond to one of the seven 'universal emotions':
The canvas size is unresticted, but try to keep the size of each portrait in check.
Canvas Size - Unrestricted.
Colours - Max 21.
Transparency - Optional.
Animation - No.
I'm not really sure what your idea is, but I suppose so.
Just keep in mind that facial expressions should be the main focus.
Can the portraits also include hands or are they restricted to faces and nothing else?

@YellowLime: The canvas size is unrestricted, but that doesn't mean the portraits need to be enormous. The portraits do not need to be the same size. They should be separate portraits.

And while we're at it, do the faces/emoji have to be separate portraits and not be part of the same scene?...
Interesting challenge! Depending on my mood and real life, I may or may not enter.
