Very nice scene, the city has really nice depth to it, and the lights fade in and out very smoothly, good job :)

Thank you! I'm usuallly not to good at color picking, but this one worked out pretty well :)

My goal is to make my own RPG game in a similar style, but I don't want to copy, so I appreciate your comment very much, gives me hope!

Thank you! I loved the art in Hyper Light Drifter, so its been influencing my pixel art quite a bit :)

I see what you mean, you were probably thinking of the more intricate ones with a picture depicted on them. I was basing this off a church nearby me, which had a simple diamond pattern on their stained glass.

I will have to check it out then, thanks for the recommendation :)

Thank you! I haven't actually played Life is Strange, though, just an image that kept popping into my head when I read the theme :) How is that series? It looked pretty interesting when I saw the commercials for it.

I agree, I think I might make the moon more white to seperate the colors. I never use automatic tools, always pencil tool on 1 pixel, but I think I know what happened; I mede the opacity of the pencil tool 10% so I could do highlights on the water (did a lot of clicking), which probably made the color count sky-rocket :/ I didn't like the effect to much though, so I think I'll stick to my usual doing it :)

Yeah, I kinda rushed this after I got back, might touch it up later tonight :/ And your right about the moon, I did not know that! In regards to the grass I kept retrying it and ended up just doing slightly different colors to layer it, should of looked back at my last pixelart for better contrast options. I'll give it another shot though, cause I like the overall look of it, just needs some polish and touch up! Thanks again for all the advice :)

What is AA? I'm actually relatively new to pixel art of this resolution, is that the blending technique with the colors? And thank you!

Thank you! Tried to simplify the colors so I can get more practice with the layout of the image, thank you for the advice again :)

I just sent the email, just message me if anything is wrong with it! (also forgive me for the messy layers)

Why thank you! Samurai Jack was an amazing series (I'm looking forward to the reboot!), but wasn't exactly the source of my inspiration. A lot of my stuff is inspired by the Studio Ghibli films and Zelda series, with a touch of Hyper Light Drifter because that game is beautiful :D

Of course :) Would you like me to send you the .psd file?

user

I agree, the last few ones have been washed out :/ I'll try making the next one a little more vibrant, as well as looking into the Grafx2 you mentioned on the Colossus pixelart :)

I did not know that! I've been resizing them mainly for Twitter and Tumblr, so I assumed the same for Pixel Joint, but using the original size sounds wonderful :) Thanks for the advice!

user

Thank you! The red block on the left was my attempt at making the image have a 2:1 ratio so it would show better on Twitter and what not, would you like me to upload it as just the 100 x 100 px (scaled up of course) image? :)
