I'll have to agree with sedge. And although I think dubya is really bad, maybe it's a matter of perception, too... But he's an ass anyways.

both pieces excellent -- lineart and pixelling. reminds me a bit of the Fallout powerarmor

haa that's awesome. Reminds me of biker mice. have you seen this?
anyway, I think you even improved the lineart a lot

Damn! what a coincidence, I was just making this poster today using the CGA pallette :D
anyway, amazing work. it's unbelievable what variation could be reached with only 16 colors...

ooh taking pixelart to the next level -- a pixelart reproduction of a 3d pixelart reproduction... :D

Either my ISP sucks butt, or the game server is extremely overloaded.
Otherwise, the idea sounds interesting, though it must be a hell lot of work

I like it a lot. I love the expression, the speech bubble, the white rays. Try another background. something that goes well with red, I dunno.
I think the black outlines work, but a very dark pink could be better.

OK, you want critique, so here we go :D
One problem with your shading is that different shades are too contrasting, i.e. the highlights on his thighs are TOO light. Second, they don't create the illusion of volume. The point of shading is to make the object 'jump out' of the page. You need to clearly define a light source, because currently shading appears somewhat random.
Another thing, the inside of the cape is too close to the body color, so at this scale they pretty much merge.
The face worries me a little. His eyes are too close and he looks like a weird smiley.

an extremely kewl corner...
jalonso, I think exactly using opacity adds this weird effect, as if everything is moving very quickly.

The International Institute for Information Design in the Czech republic offers some interesting symbols and ideograms. There are some potential ideas there for pixelartists :)

This is a damn excellent example of a tree. Trees bug lots of pixel artists, as far as I know.

and yeah, final redemption's tree is also sweet, I've been using this pic as reference a number of times.
