Thank you for the unique comparison!! This was my first time attempting sprites like these and actually one of my references was another obscure game called Robopon. I actually didn't realize Fighting Foodons had a gameboy game, I definitely remember the anime!  The actual sprite design for that game looks pretty rad too though!

Hello, thank you so much for the in-depth comment and for the very kind words and critique! :) That's a very good point about the thicker outlines, it's not something I had tried! I was struggling for a bit on how to seperate the background from the platforms while keeping the color scheme the same. Can you explain what you mean about the darker color on the bigger chunks of platforms? It would be a huge help, not sure I understood! Thank you again!
