@Kaiseto - Thanks for your encouragement; that's quite a compliment. I endeavor to upload a little more regularly here now that I'm getting back into it.

Haha, this is darling! Drifloon is one of my favorites as well.

 Thanks!

And yeah, I wasn't quite as happy with the shading on this one as the other, but I think it turned out okay overall.

Ooh, the motion lines are a great idea! I might try that out. And yeah, that rock could probably be nudged a bit.

Thanks for your advice and compliments. I really appreciate it.

 Thanks for the suggestion!

I tried making the outline a bit lighter, and I think I prefer the results to what I had. I've updated the submission file if you'd like to tell me what you think.

 Ahh, that's great to hear!

I think I just wanted a fresh start since I haven't posted in a few months, but I'm already realizing it was a poor choice. My apologies!

Hi again!

I'm wondering what you mean by "octopus parts"; the sea green tendrils are stylized, uh... ribbons, I suppose. In other words, its meant to be part of his getup.

I generally do colored outlines, though sometimes they're so close to the color I'm filling with that they aren't effective as such. This is probably the best (worst?) example of that, unfortunately. And, as always, my contrast and shading are in need of some help.

Oh, and the sextant was added per the instruction of the client, so I really have nothing to say about that. :D He wanted "an astronomer in a fancy coat and hat with a sextant".  And the blue critter itself is not of my design, for the record. I just came up with the outfit.

Oh, excellent!

Interestingly (or sickeningly, maybe), the version I posted underwent a contrast adjustment because it was even more washed out originally! I never even noticed until a friend of mine suggested it. It really is a problem with my work. Check it out:

The adjustments you made more or less blew my mind. I can hardly wrap my brain around those colors and how effective they are compared to what I had.

Could you give me a quick definition of "ramps"? This question should allow you to gauge just how new I am at this stuff, haha. You'll have to forgive me.

In any case, thanks for all the help and encouragement so far! This seems like a wonderful community. I will definitely be posting more.

Thanks for all your feedback!

It's meant to be an ear of sorts, but it does get pretty jumbled. I think it may be a bit harder to read because the character's anatomy is pretty weird to begin with, but it really does need some work, especially in the shading department. I may revisit this one. Thank you!

I see what you mean. It starts getting really illegible right around the white fluff on the coat, especially.

Thank you!
