Sun Wukong! Monkey King!

Great piece, love the characterization and colors.

If I'm not mistaken, this bears a striking resemblance to the manga, Doubt: http://www.mangafox.com/manga/doubt_tonogai_yoshiki/

Anyway, it's a neat, albeit slightly gruesome pixel. Well done.

Thanks for your crit, I see your points. :]

Some more work probably could've been done for it. I guess I was focusing on the shading and whatnot for the slimes and so design slipped my mind.

Thanks everyone. The simplicity was indeed intentional. Wanted to work at a smaller scale and maintain a cartoony-esque look.

@Joe: Thanks for the tip; Yeah, color choices are still a skill I need to work on. Hopefully I'll improve on it. :]

I actually can't recall whether I hated or liked Wind Waker's graphics at first sight. 0.o

The Professor Layton series has some pretty fun puzzles. Coupled with a good story and some fun characters, I certainly enjoy playing the games. :]

Stratus-Stereo @ 2/12/2011 12:13 commented on Big Bird

The environments look fantastic, at least from what I glimpsed from the background displayed during the video. I'm not such a big fan of how the characters look so far though. :/

I'd give it a shot, but remaking Cave Story over and over again is getting kind of tiring.

This is my new favorite story. Thank you both. :]

@skamocore: Slightly confused about what you mean, but I brought the top of the wall down a tad. could you perhaps send me a pm or comment again? Your input is much appreciated.

@tanuki: That is precisely correct, they are supposed to be mountains. I hadn't noticed that stray star, thanks for catching it.

@ZeroSum: Are you talking about the shooting stars? Yeah, I need to study how they look a bit more. Thanks.

Yeah, I listen to some pretty obscure stuff. :/

Put up the list.

This is one of those cases where I like the preview more than the detail, but it's nice all the same. :]

A bit, yeah... ._.

(Edited, but still pretty small... urk. Yeah, proportions are not right at all.)

@A.B. Lazer: Hmm, thanks for the critique, I tried making the legs 1 pixel taller, not sure if that did it.

@Batmanifestdestiny: I am having trouble seeing it. Maybe it's just because I'm rather fond of how it came out and need to splash my eyes with some cold water, haha. I'll try my best to resolve it.

@Mathias: Good rhyme, but I'd love some perhaps more direct critique, I suppose. I take it you don't like how this came out?

Thanks for commenting and critiquing, fellas, I'll see what I can do.

I have some "asian" dice and can attest to the red dot there. There are some characteristics of asian dice that could've been emphasized to distinguish it more though, I think, such as even more rounded corners.

Still, good pixel. :)

Thank you for the crit and comments, everyone. I really do appreciate it. :)

@Delicious: I see what you mean, hadn't noticed it before and will fix when I've found the time to do so. :]

I might do a series of small sprites like this, and hope to improve it along the way. Thanks again!

I must confess I did think of putting colors into the AA of the lightning while uploading. I'm always in a rush to finish stuff which is a fault of mine. I will try my best to incorporate it well and clean the AA up some more.

Thanks for the comments and crits. It's much appreciated. :]

This really was a quick piece, and it definitely could be improved. If I find the time, I will come back and AA. :]

@Sasajun: Thanks!

@Jeremy: Thanks for the advice, I'll try moving it around and adding a few things so hopefully it'll appear more interesting.

@A.B. Lazer: I'm glad you like it! I was thinking of adding some cards poking slightly out of the bottom. We'll see how that goes. :) I'll tinker around with the club too and see if I can make it more differentiated from the spade.

@Riva: It's not that I don't like shading. If you look at this piece: http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/54997.htm

I have shading. (Though I admit it is not very good shading)

This piece: http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/53453.htm

Is a 2-bit experiment. Seeing what I can do using only black and white. Would it benefit with some more tones? Yes, I absolutely think so. But then the core idea and the self-imposed restriction I had in place would be lost.

I like to play around with ideas (which I use for my art), and see what 'look' would best fit that idea (in my mind).

Thank you all for commenting and critiquing, it's much appreciated. :]

Thank you for the kind words, everyone.

@Riva: Mafia men chilling out after a job in the city, causing high alarm. I wanted to have a very small, simplistic look to this particular piece which contributes to the confusion, unfortunately. I hope my explanation cleared some things up though. :]
