I really dig this! I did similar sketch... oh... man probably 14 years ago while on the grave shift for maintenance at one of my old jobs. It immediately brought back the memory.

I am often blow away by what people can achieve with the C64's palette and graphic restrictions. Awesome work!

Great looking animation!

I thought I had seen all the comments on this one.

@digitalCoffin - That is too kind. I am constantly blown away by the work I am seeing from others on here and elsewhere.

@FancyPudding - This whole thing was a stretch for me since I mostly work on individual sprites or tiles for a couple game projects I've been kicking around on my Amiga for several years. A full scene with perspective, with multiple objects and shading was challenging.

@Grongy - Thank you!

Fantastic! I'd like to see more concepts for the game. I can't decide if it is a point-and-click adventure where you have to out wit the baddies or a beat'em up kind of combat like Barbarian... The Queen gets trapped over the pool by magic, the maid flees and Sir Knight has to combat a water spirit hacking it limb from limb until the Queen is free.

Thanks! I am sure it is not for everyone given some of the highly charged reactions online I've seen to any human form that deviates from the "ideal." Creating it was well outside the usual stuff I poke around with but I am pleased with the results.

I'm looking to try incorporating the disordered style dithering used in the glow as surface texture for my game assets I am slowly working on. (Coding, doing art/animation, etc on top of full time work and being a husband and father means it is very slow.)

Thanks for the encouragement Tipleloop. It wasn't really my intention to push the boundaries... I wasn't even intending to post this until I showed my wife when I was about 90% done and she prompted me to go for it. I did scope out the nsfw collection on here before hand to see where things stand but seeing that it is up I guess it is okay.

@FancyPudding - Sorry I've been off for a while too tired after work to really do anything and then there was this awful cold that has been going around.... This has 16 frames. It looks a lot better playing in the native Amiga anim format at 60fps. Aseprite's internal format also supports 60fps.

True... I've never used GEM in person but that green was a bold choice. We were a Commodore house growing up until they folded and eventually we moved to PCs. (My Dad started with a VIC-20) I don't remember anyone actually having a Atari ST though there was a lot of buzz around the Falcon when I was in junior high.

That's awesome! Yeah I turned up the dial on the pin-up sexiness. I've thought about doing the KBUG radio station. But I also loved Wings (which I was actually good at as a kid... racked up 212 kills during a summer.) and Rocket Ranger which I was not so good at. I've thought about revisiting those at some point.

There is something about it that is both comforting and eye-searing at the same time. I really should get back at some point to my little game/character based around that palette.

Thanks! I sat there for well over an hour before the sun started coming up over the hills behind me. Two things would have made it better - Having my wife there and having a surf board.
