Here's a very simple explosion tutorial: https://www.patreon.com/posts/explosions-part-7719254 I feel like your animation could benefit from doing something that achieves a similar effect as the third step in that tutorial (Sharp Blast), and you'd also benefit from thinking in terms of different "layers", each with its own action, so the whole animation feels more dynamic and lively.
