Yep, I know. As I said the standard-walking-cycle allowed only 3 frames. But we did not bother scripting a new one because we went with it so many years and scripting it would have been great effort.
But still we could use advanced poses in an alternative scripted battle system so here we could use much smoother animation.

Well, that's how we went with the limitations of the RPG Maker 2003. :D

Hey. Looking good so far, but still seems a bit stiff. You can add more dynamic and realism to this running cycle by moving the upper body with the motion. This can be applied by moving his shoulders with his arms for instance. So when his right arm goes forward (frame #3) his right shoulder should come to the foreground, too. At the same time the left shoulder should get more into the background. Also move the chest with it: Just 1 pixel of shifting it will do the job.

Also frame #6 should be flipped horizontally as there is the wrong leg in the front.
