ok, so I've started this a few weeks ago but I got bored and only got back to it today.  I'm almost finished with the face and I'll probably change the palette, but I wanted to post this and get some feedback before I get too far into it and then won't be able to change anything.. or will be too lazy to change anything

I counted about 14 colors on the face (not counting teal and outline of hair yet)  I'm a paint girl so I have no idea how to find the actual # of colors, besides with the photo there....  I'm not very concerned with number of colors anyway, but I thought I should mention it.   Also, it's not supposed to look exactly like the picture I used it purely for reference (first time for everything, eh?)  I think I said everything, so on with the cc people!

EDITED: any improvements?  Don't c/c the hair yet.. well you can if you want, but I only spent 10 mins on it so far, so there's nothing really to c/c.  ew now the first one looks really clownish haha

Really nice. Paint shop pro on my computer counted 26 colors, but that doesn't seem right. I really can't wait to see this finished

well, I pixelled a picture of me that looks exactly like the original photo and now I look at both and it's boring - I've got 2 pictures that look exactly the same. This time I wanted to try making it a different size and just slightly different than the original.  And since I wasn't tracing the outline this time, I couldn't get it to look excatly the same anyway.  Keep in mind that this is my second try at pixelling from a photo, so even if I wanted to, I probably wouldn't be able to make her look like herself lol

it may be 26 colors with the palettes on the sides, because I didn't use all those colors. I just picked on and then made new light and dark shades from it.

I know the nose looks different, little big and round isn't it? I tried to cut off some of the pixels around the edge, but it didn't look right.  Though, now that I know that it's very obvious, I'll keep trying.

aw people you can still give me crits, that's why I posted it here.  It doesn't look very close to the photo (the chin+jaw are totall different, and eyes and lips) but I'm sure there's plenty of other stuff to c/c on my pixelling job, so if you've got c/c  let me get me get my helmet and shoot

from this I cheated a bit on that, and traced the outlines to get the proportions right

black? haha, you know I used to be a blond, but in the past two years or so my hair just darkened  - weird eh?  I made it brown, just because it is brown in real life..  That skirt scares me - look at all those little folds and stuff  not sure I can pull that off quite yet.  thanks though

btw, it's not really finished yet, since I have no idea what to do for the background... c/c that too if you wish

meh I don't like the bricks that much.. I was thinking some kind of random pattern of shapes, of something abstracts in the back, cause if I do the real background, then it'll look weird that half of me is missing lol

uuh crap, seems my host isn't temporarily suspended, it's gone.. anyone know where I can upload BMPs? photobucket now automatically transforms all files to jpg..  guess I should start looking for a new host.  I updated more, changed the lips and chin and other things.. hopefully I can show you all soon if anyone wants to see, I can email it to ya lol

Alright.. I remembered that I can convert to png online so the file on my computer can stay a bmp

ZOMG NECROPOST!  Ok, it's been many, many months, but i do intend to finish this before i die.  And my sister's birthday is coming up in june, so who knows, maybe I'll finish it... then again, at this rate I'd better save it for next year.

So I worked on it a bit today and I did the hair finally.. after like 5-6 different attempts I think I sort of got it.  I'll still add some loose strands on the right and maybe some to soften the forhead.  So - c/c the hair pls!
