So, Im making a platformer in P.A. and I was wondering if its olay to have NPA backdrops such as forests, the sky, building, etc. Im not amazing with pixelart, Im still fairly new, so making these huge backdrops actually work well, I would have to do them in NPA. would this ruin the game? as long as they fit well, is there some technical issues with two different art styles mixed together?
Thanks for your time and opinions, Chief, aka Nick Dugger |

I don't think it ruins the game if the NPA backgrounds are better than PA ones.

Hybrids can be very cool. Just don't go NPA because you're being lazy. Do it because its what the project needs.

well yeah. Im still gonna attempt to pixel the backdrop, but if I feel that I can do it better with NPA, then I for sure will.

Well, look at games like marvel vs capcom. They have 3d backgrounds and it doesn't really take away from the game because it matches everything else.
