CHALLENGE: Create-a-ControllerSony recently announced their new 'Move' controller. So this week we want you to get creative and design your own game controller for a home console. You may draw inspiration from existing controllers, but don't be lazy and just submit a replication of an existing controller with some alterations - ie. no NES controllers with added analogue sticks. Be creative. CHALLENGE RULES

Sould the image just show the mentioned controller, or should this be a scene showing the gameplay particularities of the controller (and the controller of course...) ?
Nice challenge anyway!!! |

I'm not sure what you mean by gameplay particularities. But the image should just show the controller on its own. Remember you can discuss the details of the controller in your submission's description.

2 pointer-finger analogs :D No more multi-tasking thumbs! Also, both halves separate for maximum fatness while sitting on your couch, if lifting your arms over your body is too tiring. Pretty much a WIP, I'm not sure what to add, it still looks like many other controllers. I don't mean the shape, though, can't go too far or I'll just make it uncomfortable. |

I have a question, how do you do the transparency? I tried to download the thing that they have on it but it messed up and didn't work. So will anyone help me?

Hi everyone(it's my first post here)!
I have made this(something like half nun-chuck, but with edge ;] )
What do you think? SerenaOmega, you can use Gimp/PS, add alpha channel and delete color witch should be transparent, or save as with transparency box checked in InfranView, picking transparent color. Not all file formats handle transparency. For those with layers you can use tiff, png and gif is good for flat ones. Edited by AceRaven - 16 March 2010 at 8:32am |

Greetings.
I was wondering if I could elicit some help from you guys. I entered this week's weekly challenge with this: but Tronlet noted that it was a bit flat. I agree with him, but I don't exactly know how to fix it
He also recommended using a different shading method. Any ideas or helpful hints? Any help is much appreciated. Edited by M. Lucanius - 16 March 2010 at 2:44pm |

I don't know how to make it transparent in paint, but you could download the free version of graphics gale. For graphics gale you just click the ... on the frame your on and then enable transparency.

And in the Darkness bind them.
Bg has to be transparent, not just pretend to be... ;D Submit to the gallery (when finished. I guess that was the meaning of your question?) and don't forget to check the last box: Submit to weekly challenge Edited by Manupix - 18 March 2010 at 2:53pm |

When you make a piece larger than 100x100, you must also make a small version 100x100 max, which will appear in the gallery as preview (don't resize: you can crop a meaningful part of the image, or make a different, but related, image).
Upload this preview as the small file, and the larger main piece as the detail file. Sucking at drawing is the best reason to practice and upload! ;D |

Even when someone says they hate my work, I don't mind. I love it and it is a great compliment when someone is willing to say they hate it and advise me on how to make it better. I am certain that I will never be really good at pixel art, but I do know I will forever enjoy it. So cheer up and don't be discouraged. Instead, do what you enjoy with the time God has blessed us with regardless of what others think.
