   CHALLENGE: Why?
Why did the chicken cross the road? Show us why!

Don't be boring, to get to the other side is not an option. 

Just make sure your submission isn't too absurd though - it should at least involve a chicken getting to the other side of a road.

Canvas Size - Max 145 (width) x 90 (height).

Colours - Max 32.

Transparency - Optional.

Animation - Optional.
CHALLENGE RULES
Participants have until this upcoming Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) to submit their entry (strict). Don't forget to check the 'Submit to weekly challenge' checkbox.
Only new pixels allowed.
Open to all members.
Posting WIPs in this thread or in new threads in the WIP section is highly encouraged, but ONLY SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ART.
CHALLENGE JUDGING
Every Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) the previous week's entries are judged.
Every week a new voting poll will be posted for previous week's entries.
Winner announced the following week.

CHALLENGE PRIZES/GOODIES
Top three finishers will receive an award displayed in your PJ gallery profile for all to see and envy.
Top finisher gets to call the following week's challenge...sweet.
'Participation' ribbons will be given for all who enter.
No matter what happens you get challenged :)

	Very very cool topic, I did a digital painting for a challenge with the same title. Not pixel work but can be viewed at the following link if anyone wants to take a peek . 	Manjaman that's pretty sweet, reminds me of the Chicken treat chook though. I wonder if that advert for West Coast Fried Chicken was your reference? Anyway; That's my WIP so far, still trying to workout what exactly I should have the great warrior rooster facing across the road. Still it was better than the first design I started going with. PS both my monitor and my eyes are screwy can anybody see a rock like structure at his feet? Need to make sure it's at least semi-readable.

	Here's a start: Yes, that is a strip of chicken breast running from a frying pan. Sadly, I'm not too experienced, so I couldn't bring out all that I wanted to. Obviously, the scenery isn't done, it's just outlines. My main focus today was the characters, and I felt like working on the road too. Currently at 21 colors. Now time to go do homework. 	You've heard of the Red Light District from seedy tales of towns gone astray. But have you ever been to the side of the coop that the Egg White District nests in? Had 5 minutes left at work and didn't want to start something I'd have to stop in the middle of so I did this instead :P

	Update: The biggest criticism I've been getting is that the chicken strip doesn't look like chicken. And thus, it is replaced with roast chicken, which in my opinion is much more recognizable. I need to work on those trees some more. But first, sidewalk detail.

	114. Use the free version of graphics gale it's a lot nicer than paint. Also there's so many colors because i think those cloud and bush and tiles are ripped from the game. Correct me if im wrong.

	wait what oh no no no don't make me feel all guilty now damnit So here's the complete idea, now with 100 % more actual physical road. At least the clouds on the left side will be redone (it's just copypasta & recolour from right), plus the tail part needs adjustment.

	Wow, all your works are really cool ! Here's my entry : Well, in a distant future, police ships will be a little weird, chickens fly with strange saucer-looked devices. I wake up early today to start it, it was a funny exercise. I used 31 colors and a hundred frames. I have seen more funny jokes about the "why the [...]", I don't expect too much about mine, after all, it was funny.
