Hi there folks. Obviously I'm new to the forum.
Of course, we all know that pixel art takes a lot of skill to produce, and animators using pixel art must do each animation frame-by-frame, which is the reason that artists in this medium use cycles so often. Now, I was wondering if anyone had a good option in how to mimic the isometric look of pixel art, with less production time inbetween? I've recently taken up a project that requires 'pixel art style' animation... but I don't feel the time is there to do everything absolutely in pixel art. Would anyone know of any software that's out there that would assist, or is Photoshop the best option? Just a side note - I'm not a lazy animator, I'd love to spend the time and lovingly craft each frame of each animation, but I don't think it's possible! |

I'm not sure if you're familiar with any 3D applications but it seems to me you could develop your character in 3DS Max or some similar program, render from a isometric angle with anti-aliasing turned off and go from there? Might be a bit quicker than hand-pixeling each frame of the animation.
