I know the tree is a mess, but i'll try to fix it on the next wip.

I'm very very unsure if this is good or not...

I don't have much time to work on it so I'm progressing slowly.

And instead of doing a big snow man, I thought about a kind of big sculpture/Crystal/ Ice thing that would be the object of a worship...

Here is the inspiration, I think all of you recognize this great game...

The concept is cool, but:
-It's too out of isometric. Especially the lower-left side is 45 degrees and the seperation between two tiles is so obvious.
-The ground is undefinable. If it's grass, it's too gray and dirty. If it's a pile of veins, it should be more like the hanging veins below and have some volume. If it's dirt it's too regular.
-The tree is artisticly well, reminds of oil paint, not sure if it fits the general theme though. The negative side I see is the lack of both inner and outer shadows, hence lacks volume.
-Lower right side is mostly good, especially liked how you defined the thickness of the ground.
-It seems you've ed up my vault door :) I've posted a complete version of it before and I'll post it again.

However this is NOT how you must do it. This is only 1 of the thousands of right ways.
You can illustrate it as you like, you can make it broken, cover it with something, burn it, melt it, give it another shape etc. but emotionally I would like it to be "right" in terms of isometric perspective, that's all.
-Last and most important, the tile lacks a point of interest, my eyes are looking for something happening in there. A person/monster/vehicle doing something.

I know this is a WIP and maybe you already knew some of these, just thought I should point out what I see.

Edit: this is only to show how the ground can be more iso-ish. Copy pasted pieces of your tile.

Its a good idea, but, there will be almost no trees on this project as its underground and all. Your location may have a tree but it better be kick-ass, or its gonna stick out, in a bad way, k. Your land mass is not very iso at all before you get too far along try to work on that. Gecimen makes good points too.

Please don't rush yourself, Your tile is coming along nicely. Don't know that game but bring as much as you can into it. Also, please move the altar to the very corner(see image below) so your neighbor won't be forced to use transparency. You've also jumped into the neighboring tile Your walls need a bit of depth (blue color).

@kenpokis
You are doing good :) It may just be that you are still working things out but thought I'd point out that you are using some 'dirty' lines. Another thing is this tip. If you sit back and look at your piece and see pixels that stand out as a 'shape' then that almost always means those pixels want a different color. Like the corner of the top rock shows. Its dark, it looks like a V or flying bird...so color down to brown or grey.

And finally about me :)
The whirpool/vortex is giving me a problem. What looks better 1st or 2nd in style? I like my tile to tell their own story and this one says nothing because its meant to blend my neighbors. If I add TweedleDee and TweedleDum would that be dumb? Is a3um's tile based on a game or is it just a jewel?

Ditched the priest tower and added an archer statue with wings...its lame right?

@Jal; both look good, I'm gonna study them :)
But personally I love the ripples over the water in the 1st and lower side of the vortex is more fable-ish looking as opposed to sci-fi look of the 1st. Top half of 1st and bottom half of 2nd will probably be the best blend with neighbours?... You say the tile says nothing, yet again a vortex itself is a major point-of-interest. Maybe you can drown something into the vortex but would it cover it's beautiful ripples?

I pass about the other tile to someone who has something to say about it :)
-----------------------------------------
Now I've already done 5 tiles and yeah it's one of the biggest numbers any one person has done yet, but I just can't stop =/

If I am allowed I could do one of those "hard-to-connect" "in-between" tiles, such as #87... Guys just tell me if I'm going over the top

@Gecimen, Rule#1 • You can create more than one tile. ;)
I gotta think more about that vortex, I guess...I don't really think either one works. Its gotta be simple enough to match top neighbor and OTT to match my bottom neighbors. Its an AA tile, XD

Yeah yeah, the grass was just to have some land to do the tree shapes and stuff. I was more interested in working with the colours to see if they would blend good rather than making a nice tree. Yeah, it's underground, but there is an eyeball in that tile xD

Don't worry Jalonso, you would help me making my tree look badass. Wont you???

@jalonso - the whole tile is a pure random:[ Initially, I was thinking of a Worldstone from Diablo 2 LoD, but then Alice appeared(: As for vortex, I prefer the 1st one because it doesn't blend with water surface

@ Jaker Pot:  The Isometry is still a little difficult to see. I liked the tree idea, here's a quickie edit:

My tree was based on a couple of isometric prisms, yet the end result isn't very boxy. At least starting in an isomeric grid means that you get a projection that looks right :)

Ditched the priest tower and added an archer statue with wings...its lame right?

The statue is ok, but the bow not so much; it just looks odd and jittery, and it can be read as a part of the lava flow.  The lava flow is pretty enough on its own..but if you think it's too empty, why not play around with some bridge or arc (or even a bigger statue)?

Why aren't reserved tiles marked in the assignment table? I'm a little tempted to do sumtin' with 51 if it's not taken...

I'm not sure I understand this. 2nd post on first page is all the reservations, WIPs, and current warning list. What have I missed?
I wrote you down for 51.
I'm off to work on my tile some more :)

Of course :p...I'm concerned about your latest WIP and how it can possibly overtake a big area of above ground tiles. The image below (green area) is how I can see land over-taking the whole top area. Try to control the land mass so that you have room to do your thing but forces your neighbors to be minimal with above ground areas (red line). I like the bridge idea.
The images below were for your earlier WIP and I just never posted so it might be useless to you now. Ignore my tree, use Jeremy's way. Also, one tree is more interesting than a bunch of tiny trees.

Your tile is great looking but has a problem you need to work on. You have used a transparent overlay to create the shadows sending your tile to 28 colors. You can only use the 16 colors in the palette. The red arrows in the image below shows 2 shadows I colored using palette colors as solid pixel areas. You have to fix the shadows for sure.
The other thing is that because you used similar colors on everything its hard to make out all the details. I colored a pole and 1 teepee to show how a tiny bit of color makes everything better. So its good, but has some technical problems :)

So far only, that the nostril area is not isometric and back leg is hard to read. It's looking good tho :)

@Pandora's Secret, you can always PM Wiggly and ask if he has a WIP to show you, or what idea he's sitting on, so you can work on your tile.

EDIT:

left, my 62 WIP. right, my 26.

and before anyone says my statue is too big, I'd like to tell you that the statue, yes, is suppose to be 5 times bigger than the average human. :P

thanx!

@Clovach, your idea is nice but I'd like to point a a couple of things and see if it works for you.
The top corner of your tile is LeChuck's Ghost Ship. Are you willing to place that behind your sculpture? A reference pic of the ship is a page or 2 back.(red lines below). Also please keep the edge of your wall as iso as you can (the other red lines).
I was actually working on the tile by 26 but I did'nt really reserve it and you asked for 26 first. So my second question is can you work with a Tetris (Russian dancers to come) theme on the bottom left edge of your tile? You don't need to make anything Tetris in your tile at all. Just give me enough wall to bring into my tile like it is now and maybe darken that edge.

Note that I am willing to completely throw the Tetris tile away. You do however, have to fit the ship in your tile to have #26, k.

@Clovvach:
Man, i think your statue looks too odd right now... I think that if you complete the ship and make some tetris pieces, it will look a lot better. It's just a sugestion though.

I dunno Joker, I think any more Tetris pieces and it'll be overkill. The statue can be fixed easily enough. If he wants that tile we can all help him with c+c on the statue :)
That tile I was playing with can easily use Clovach's wall for Humpty Dumpty sitting on the wall and all the King's men, instead of Tetris.

Oh, now i got it! The statue is droping sand? I thought that line was intentioned to be some kind of elevation...
I think you could work on that and on the transition sand to water, so it will read better.

The nostril/eye is better looking. The tile looks great in the main pic and blends that area well

You might have missed my point on the legs. On your piece the front leg and back leg have different sizes. Maybe you are un-consciously thinking about depth + perspective. Iso has no depth. The image shows the legs in both sizes and with the back leg moved as your back leg is pointing up to my eyes but may not be wrong/bad, just looks weird to me so, I did them in a truer iso perspective.

The other crit of your tile is that it could use a tiny bit more definition. The 3rd pic is just defining the lines of the gator a little more on the front leg and throwing more blacks in the rocks for the back leg to pop a bit more. More shadow helped too. Its rough and just for illustrating the point. The darkest grey color is good for this, a color you didn't use.

@DawnBringer, Removed 51 reservation till you decide.

@Jaker Pot, with all the classic game reference sub-theme that has developed maybe you can place Snorlax under your tree...just an idea.

@Gecimen, 87 is yours but know that Wiggly has a WIP for 88 somewhere...maybe he just PMd me about it and didn't post...too much to remember o.O

No probs mate, I can edit to fit #88 in a minute even if I finish before I see that WIP of Wiggly's. It's only the diagonal tile.

@marilii, not understanding defeats the crit. Both legs were of different sizes so I was just trying to say they should be of the same size regardless of position. About the back leg I was trying to point out it it was pointing at an angle that was making it seem odd to me. Maybe others and you didn't find an angle problem there as it could be seen in different ways :/ Update is very nice!

@Jaker Pot, You have your own idea, go with that. It was just an idea that popped up and figured I'd throw your way. Whenever possible, always do 'your' own thing.

@ekobor, maybe later on when things settle down at College :)

@Clovach, can you work with this?

thats what I got so far, not sure If I should interpretate the red as lava or oil?  The pirate ship will get fixed ( either it will become bigger to be a small pirate ship with one or two gnomepirates, plus be more isometric)

@marilii, You did an awesome job  it will be added in the next update.

@kren, Your tile is wonderful. I think your neighbors' tiles are vague enough in the edges that you can turn that into anything you want, sand, lava, blood, fire, etc. The ship is really, really cute. Can't wait to see it detailed.

@kren;

What's this? An upper step of waterfall? (doing the next tile)

Tile #87 WIP1:

This was considering Kren began a waterfall step in his tile.
