I'm often going to the skate park to (try to) sketch the daring youths on wheels (roller skates, skateboards, kick scooters). Also to the daring elders playing pétanque.
From now on I'll pixel from some of those sketches.
Here's the first, expect to see more.

Wondering how I can now do another, different one. XD

Hey,Wow. My first ever post on this Site. Never done much pixel art before. (Asides from a few weeks doing a little bit of Iso.)

Started off with a nice 2 color castle. Hate the texture on the castle itself though :( Done in about 20 mins.

Then I did a five color pic. Took about 15 mins. If you can't tell its one of those plasma ball things.

Newbie alert! First attempt at doing my very own artwork. About 25 long minutes & 11 colors (I actually used a palette! Jay!)

The outline is probably considered a bit of a cheat, but I've seen a few games do this to contrast small sprites against the backgrounds and I kind of like it.

White outlines have their places, but I reckon it's washing yours out a little bit, due to lack of contrast in the robot itself :)

These are all really creative. How are you all posting images?  Do I have to have a website hosting them to do so?

There are image hosting sites available, such as Imageshack, Photobucket and tinypic. I personally use tinypic, it gives you the URL in image tags to copy+paste :)

This is the second or third time this topic has got me to make something, to stop uselesspost. It's working :D

its half term here, so ill try to post here as much as possible when im not busy.

210?

 5 colours

211

 8 colours (i think)

(its meant to be a mushroom cloud, but its hard to texture it at this resolution so it looks a little smooth)

212

5 colours, i think, and i went over a little on time because i wasted alot tweaking, then realised i should put those little houses in, and took a bit too long doing them.

I have been completely hypnotized by this website. Making Pixel art has always been fun, but this is the first time I've started making my own stuff. Not stealing art styles is hard!

223

19 colours, about 20 minutes (5 of which were me raging at my computer for inexplicably drawing pixels on the other side of the screen whenever I'd click).

224

18 colours, 25 minutes.

225

12 colours, 10-15 minutes.

Wow, has it really been a year since my last post here?  0.0
Glad to see this thread is still alive!

Here's two I had made long ago but not uploaded. The Zeppelin is from a ref picture somewhere on the webz.

Also, I made this from those little pieces, for what it's worth. There are 3 slides, click on the image.
I don't think anyone will get to wear that soon ;_;

well, sort of slightly alive anyway, hopefully we can prolong the time before it's inevitable decline back into inactivity :')

I believe that the target was 1024?

#242 - cactus

#243 - the banker

#244 - the king

#245 - the sailor (didn't have much time for a bg on this one. for some reason i'm finding them harder than the actual characters, go figure)

#246 - the cook (pancakes and swan, yummy :p)

#247 - the fisherman

#248 - the undertaker

#249 - the minstrels (considered doing them separately, seemed kind of cheap as really they both belong in one piece)

Does anyone else have any ideas for these guys? I'm enjoying them way too much :P

I'll do a compilation thing when we get to 256(although it won't actually be 256 due to missing links, but we can revise the numbers when we get there)

A) bump
B) This:

i had time on my hands and i wanted to see how many we ACTUALLY had, there's 241, so we lost 8 to broken links. I'll try and back up fairly often.

Also i propose that we start the numbering from #242 again to keep track of how many we really have

Anyway, not too shabby :D

Thank you for your work!
I checked and it turned out I backed up the thread 25.02.2010 - wow, it was so long. Five images are broken from that date.
I think we should not change the order - pictures come and go, and there is no point to change order every time. So next picture should have number 252.

Also I need to note that still some variations of PNG are not supported by all browsers. For instance, in IE visible only a couple of images from last posts (archive mosaic is visible). GIF is preferred.

Fair enough. It'd still be cool to have a 32x32 mosiac at the end but we can compensate for missing ones at the end, if we ever get there.

you hear that everyone? Next picture is #252, we're carrying on as before :) happy pixelling :)
