I will! Just want to make sure no interference gets in the way and blocks a tile too long; also I'd like to clear (a little) a backlog of unfinished stuff which has been dragging me back for a while, before beginning new stuff! ;)

Thanks a lot. I didn't see it previously, I'll update it, thanks again.

EDIT:

I updated a few parts, I can update it again later on depending on LuckyF and Jaker's tiles. I think LuckyF changed his floor to match mine but I can match his as well.

I found adding the bike and kids took away from the Chilean miners so just E.T. which I find looks like him o.O


Next update I'll add your new tweaked tiles and all of Lucky's.

PS; You have a wrong brown pixel in the lowest tetris piece, and a wrong gray in E.T.

Gecimen I changed the floor to lighter color mostly to for the alien queen to stand out more. Maybe we should go even lighter, but I'm not sure. It would be great if change the floor a bit in your tile too.

 I dont know ))) Personally I like it as it is, but there's an opinion floating around that the queen blends into background too much. So I leave this decision for others in this mini collab )

It's not true for the updated version. The queen is very visible at the moment. Lighter colors wouldn't really give the idea of a "cave".

Hmm there must be something wrong.. When I look at the first page I see LuckyF's 4 tiles 29, 45, 72, 84, my tile 53 all missing the latest updates. Plus my new one (drD) and your miner and tetris tiles.

To be precise;

Tile 29 was updated with some highlights and shadows etc.
Tile 45 had its background colors completely changed.
Tile 72 the tips of the tentacles of a3um's monster was added.
Tile 84 The tank was recolored to have some more volume.

My tile 53 was updated with some color changes + foot of the alien queen and a guy/gal with flamethrower.

Is it me who can't see these updated?

@Gecimen, Apparently you are correct! I did forget to post the new pic because I was working on my tile and slacked. Its posted now :)

Since for all practical purposes you manage this collab as much as I do. If you get a chance and are in the mood will you review the reservations list and let me know if something is wrong there, pleeez :) ... just a favor not a demand or order.

I changed all of Lucky's tiles to red numbers posted a DrD memo and then thought some black numbers should be blue or red.

We're not short of free tiles at the moment but in the name of setting a rule, how bout we put a concrete 90-day limit to people with at least 1 WIP (after their last update) and a 30-day limit to people with no WIP (since they probably just claim-and-forget)? Would that work? I beleive it's more than gracious. Also, I can track the dates all the way (unless I die or something).

BTW I always send PMs to long-term inactives. Out of this list, none of them answered back. The ones that did (wish04, ambient, rephisto) also posted their updates here. Can we assume they don't check Pixeljoin.com time to time?

This IS a collab that goes beyond the art itself so we'll add your rule.
In the rules we did allow for them:

Special Rules
• Special rule(s) may be added to accommodate whatever loophole y'alls manage to find and exploit.

But I would reword it a bit:

• You must post a WIP tile within 30 days of reserving a tile. Thereafter, every WIP post buys you a 30 day extension before you lose your tile reservation.

That sounds fine, it's not scary even the tiniest bit. It's just that peple have to know they will eventually lose the tile reservation if they forget about it all together (to the point that they ignore the PMs), and be pushed to design the contents of their tiles, even if they postpone the pixelling.

Note that this rewording leads to a few deleted reservations at this moment. And if we don't apply it, the rule may lose its meaning. KevinK and Snader can be excluded for some more time since they lost their original reservations under unexpected circumstances.

Yet this entry breaks 3 different rules.
1-It doesn't blend into its neighbour's WIP that was posted before him. (Snader's number #30, see below). If we accept this tile as is, it'll be unfair to Snader. I'm not talking about the tile quality here.


2- Its perspective and scale are debatable. Doesn't look ISO at all. This is also a viable reason for rejection.
3- It's a tile with no completed neighbours, much later than the starting tiles were done. See your reply below:

22 is you neighbour, so, if you pick #15 me or someone else can fill in between.

antymattar is active on PJ, let's keep his reservation until one or more of his neighbours is done and ask him to blend into them.

If you mean 18 the participant (Top) says it's finished. The orange thing on the top is shadow over lava. Yes that area could be more detailed but well it's up to the owner of the tile. You can continue that shadowy area more detailed in your tile and if Top comes back he can look into it himself.

Edit: looking at your previous WIP you can continue the same concept only with changing the left bunker into water.

very heavy Wip.
I decided to redo the whole thing, the volcano is still very basic, for the exception of a few details I've already added.
I have a main idea of what I'm aiming for, but I'm still having trouble making it blend with tile 18.
the yellow around the volcano is actually supposed to be sand, not lava, but I think I'm failing at making it clear right now, and I have no idea on how to make it sandier.
ignore all the stray pixels and the little shroom on top

@Jalonso; it's more than OK to remove my main pics, it takes too much space in the discussion forum. I don't want to disturb you with every little thing so if it's ok I'll post updates here and you can delete it after you post the real update.

@Stratto; It does look like sand. The volcano seems pretty cool at the moment. Blending with tile 18 won't be a problem if you continue that smoke. It will work as a blender.

@KevinK; your tile seems cool in terms of blending. Now you can include some action in that big empty space. You can destroy the wall a bit. As for ideas, one is obviously putting a monster of sorts. Game references are not uncommon. Another might be an oasis and camel riders around it... and so on..

Great stuff going on guys and gals. Keep it up :)

Or a squad from the Gears of War series. A big part of these games happen underground.
