I know there's no right or wrong way to way however, I wanted to see how so of you guys work?. Firstly I do a sketch in pencil which I clean up and then scan, then here's the bit I like to know. Do you guys go over the drawing with the pencil tool and then tidy it up. Or manually place pixel by pixel the outline of the doodle?. |

Cheers,
First one is a more painterly approach, was wondering with the lineart do you sketch it out using the pencil tool and then tune it up manually pixel by pixel?. |

I do everything in the paint program, including sketching.
I find it to be much faster than drawing by hand, then scanning, then resizing, etc... ![]() ![]() Here are 2 WIP of mine where you can see the initial sketch, then I refine the lines and clean them progressively as I gain a better understanding of the forms and perspective of the subject. But if you're really good at drawing by hand, and your piece is large or complex, I guess scanning could be a faster solution. |
