Pandora 67 reserved. Updated main pic with kevink and Rephisto.
@Rephisto, SORRY! I totally overlooked your tile. ![]() I think your tile is terrific and really ties that whole area together. I do think you could use the 2 lightest colors, the mint green and the light yellow, to smooth the white eyes which are a bit jaggy. I might edit my tile so the column become a tongue or an eye. @kevink, added your WIP to motivate and inspire you :) Edited by jalonso - 24 January 2011 at 7:13am |

@Stratto; I think it's going pretty good. What's the problem? If you're talking bout the orange part, as I said before, you gotta do what you can and leave the rest to the owner of that tile. Plus it doesn't look that bad.
Now the moai statues is a cool idea, only they could be a bit bigger. Also try to add some texture to the water and sand, you're gonna leave a total yellow border to your upper neighbour just like #18 did to you. |

@Pixel-Ninja, 96 reserved for you :)
Please see all the rules and stuff on page 1 if you haven't already. Especially: • Pink outer tiles MUST use transparency to 'break the grid'. • You must post a WIP tile within 30 days of reserving a tile. Thereafter, every WIP post buys you a 30 day extension before you lose your tile reservation. (Added Jan 2011- Gecimen Rule ) |

@Pixel-Ninja, its a nice start but you have problems as it relates to this collab.
Your tile is not isometric which it must be. Outer (border) tiles like yours need transparent edges (see main image page 1 post 1). |

Nah that's not really true. I think what he really means is; two turtles close to eachother might be too much. Yet again you're free at that.
About your tile; to make it ISO you need to make the circles 2:1 and break the border. Like this: ![]() Ofc you still need to make the lower side more natural; you can check tile 61 or that. @Stratto; it's nice. Are you sure you don't want to continue the middle pole of the ship? Yeah well changing it into another creature (e.g. a worm) wouldn't hurt. But the final decision is his.

Gecimen I disagree about Pandora's turtle )
Ok a bit of the sloppy edit of how I would do the turtle. A bit flat but I didn't have much time to play around with it. ![]() And if stick more to your idea and go with more flat turtle, I would pick something like snapping turtle. Any advice on how to go about starting it? How about a nest with some eggs in there and turtles around? Leaving tracks in the sand. Maybe on their way to water. Try google to get some inspiration. |

Alright yeah, I might do a small nest I just don't know how to make the little turtles look. Also how am I to do the rounded bottom of the tile if it goes outside the boundaries?

You're still forgetting to break the border. For a better layout you should first decide what your landscape will look like.
Note that you don't have to make it rounded. But you can go outside of your lower border as much as you want (without entering anyone else's tile). EDIT: I have some important notes for you. 1- You have semi-transparent pixels at the borders of your tiles. Please check if you're using "Feather" or "Anti-alias" in Photoshop's cutting tools. 2-You're using pure black. Please use the fake-black in the palette. 3-Check this edit below. It's only one of the options to show you how you can break the border. No pixels get into another person's tile but I used the empty space out of my tile. It blends with the existing tile on your left, and leaves something to blend with for the empty tile on your right. But the real important thing is it secures the integrity of the whole project by not leaving anything that seems unnaturally cut-off. ![]() 4-If you want to do a good job dont leave huge empty areas. In the above edit I tried to texturise the sand. You can do other stuff such as plants, cracks, mud, or scene elements (humans, animals etc.) Edited by Gecimen - 01 February 2011 at 5:11am |

You are doing good but you have to draw in isometric perspective.
You are new to PJ and to pixelart so please know we are trying to help. We are here to help in any possible way but you should have the basics of isometric projection first, k. Please see the resource section in the forum or the link section of the main gallery if you need to understand the basics of isometric projection. Overall you are being somewhat sloppy. Way too much pixels in one waters edge and not enough in the other. Half the rocks have clean lines and half have dirty lines. There is no silly question in PixelJoint if its about Pixelart. |

Here's my attempt at little turtles in more of an isometric perspective. Not perfect but the general idea is there.
![]() But what jalonso said about the general isometric perspective of the tile is what it needs. |

@Samurai; to help you understand what's wrong with the perspective;
![]() The iso perspective is something like this. Your turtles are from the top. Whereas this may or may not be the only mistake of the perspective, this is the most significant (as far as I see) and if you corrected all the turtles the whole scene would look more iso. I agree with Jalonso about the rocks and the line where the sea touches the beach. You can spend a little more time on these parts. Important note: you still have semi-transparent pixels on the edges. Important note 2: As Jalonso said, this whole critisism is for the better. The whole pixel-joint community are based on this participation process. It'll go up to the point you're satisfied with your work. EDIT: dpixel was faster than me :) @dpixel; why don't you grab another tile dude? Edited by Gecimen - 01 February 2011 at 7:10pm |

@antymatter, tile 30 is listed as a WIP but not added because you were still working on it...I thought. Also, snader and his neighbor didn't post anything and they touch #30...anyhoo, is tile 30 complete?
You can't have tile 37 because you can't touch your own tile, which touches 30, k. Just let us know :) |

Sometimes its not what you do with the item challenging you but working on its opposite. For example, if you had a female Moi statue in the water being all sexy it would not just give the 2 guys a purpose but the viewer would not focus on the water. Moi mermaid too... any story would work, just think about it. Edited by jalonso - 05 February 2011 at 5:16pm |

@Stratto, That looks great but the colors overall are very monochromatic on that side of the tile. The dolphin can be green or even yellow or a mix of colors to brings some action there as the neighbors smoke has pushed you into a creative corner, ya noes?
