@antymattar, 14 is yours. Please note a new rule has been added since your last tile:
• You must post a WIP tile within 30 days of reserving a tile. Thereafter, every WIP post buys you a 30 day extension before you lose your tile reservation. (Added Jan 2011- Gecimen Rule )

Some have taken longer to complete their tiles (like you  ) and we can't tell if some have given up or are busy with other things but will eventually complete them. Its just about letting neighbor tiles know what's up so they can work on their own tiles.

yes. its an isometric collab :p

You can tweak the perspective so long as it reads isometric since some tiles have already done so but nothing is glaring. I wish it was strict iso but collabs always morph. Use your best judgment and post WIPs if you want/need a 2nd set of eyes.

*liking your scene there, mhmm.

Their tiles were (delibarately or accidentally) given to someone else. So they have been given extra time for compensation.

Very good tile dude. Although it's not like you have to stay within the square in a border tile.

Yeah I don't think there's any problems about you having tile #3.

I don't know if it's allowed or not but it's not like you couldn't have kept it within the borders. You just need to park the jeep in front of the stairs.

Alternatively you could even fill the gap between your tile and 53.

I'll give my tile up, I just don't know what to do with it.
I've tried finishing the ship up but that's it. If I can't hink of anything good to do with it I'll just pass it on.

Well an empty field of lava is open to anything.
In case you need an idea; a scene involving Guybrush/LeChuck and a walking plank would really rock.

Another thing that would rock is: Anakin & Obi Wan dueling on a platform that floats over the lava.

Several other alternatives are:
A lava monster
A building sinking into the lava (e.g. something like Kremlin palace that continues Jalonso's tile)
A Dali-like scene (melting clocks)
A scene of Krank and Shredder
etc.

The last alternative is, you can choose another tile :)

But don't give up!

progress so far on 37-



I added the wip tile from a3um to see if mine looks coherent being just across from it.

I'm planning on having someone walk the plank into the monster pit with other people around the start of the plank to prevent escape.

I'm having a little bit of difficulty matching the pixels to the left of the bottom corner of my square, mostly the 5 blue pixels that form a diagonal line. Also not 100% sure if it all matches the idea of ISO perspective, since I've never done it before.


Things that I know need work/fixing-

The poles at the start of the plank still need shadows, but adding shadows to the ropes makes the whole thing seem messy.

The lower left edge needs a bit of work since it's creating the visual effect of there being a seam.

I think the edge of the pit to the right of the plank is too noisy right now so I'll fix that later.

The start of the plank could use a platform of some sort, maybe a natural stone area.

Here's an edit for suggestions:

The cliff edge should look like a natural edge.
You can AA the ropes.
You can extend the edge to carry the plank a bit.
The sand textures should follow a more natural path.
The plank is too plain.

I made a few adjustments. The plank still needs a little work. The sand dunes kept confusing me because I feel like everyone's dunes are going in different directions all around me, so mine swirl a bit. I'll work on those some more too. Next I'll start to add people, though I've never made people at this scale before.

The sand texture is better. So is the cliff side but is that thick green outline on the lower corner intentional? Also the rope seems too thick at the moment. You can use a lighter color for it.

• I have no problem extending the size to accommodate a3um's tile.
• tanuki and antymattar, good job, keep at it.
• added cure #3 and Andrew-M #91 to reservation list.

btw, Indiana Jones is on tile 35. Maybe a3um can adjust to Lara Croft or some other 'ruins' character?

Hello Jal,

This is an update for my tile 53 and a3um's tile 38 to connect our tiles.

We prepared this together with a3um. (I sent a WIP, he did his side, I did my side.)

It also contains some edits in the tile itself. So I consider #53 finished now.

This is my first time drawing people at this scale, but maybe they're okay. Tile 37-



Is there anything else I should fix or add? Also the wip that I posted earlier had a slight error in one of the layers causing a transparency that added an extra color which had 1 extra point of green and blue on two of the pixels. I couldn't even tell the difference until I noticed the extra color when saving. It's been removed in the current version posted here, which should now have the correct 16 colors plus transparency.

I wish I could add a speech bubble that says "Your GP or your HP", but I don't see text anywhere else and it'd be too big to fit...

This is my first time doing AA on letters at all, and I guess my second time making letters that small.

I thought it'd be like the sword guy says the first part and the spear guy says the second part. The first has no AA and just uses the darkest color, but I thought it didn't look too good. The third one I wanted to use different color of text and bubbles both to show it's two different people talking and also to show the ill will behind "or your hp." I didn't want the bubbles to be so obtrusive though...



The G is slightly weird I think, in the AA version. Looks kind of like a 6.

@Tanuki; the AAd text seems better and G doesn't look like 6. As for the bubbles, maybe you could try a transparent one with no white filling.

Btw, does it mean, your grand prix or your hit point.. or hewlett packard? :O
