CHALLENGE: The Animalphabet

Gecimen wants you to pick a letter from the alphabet (say, F) and illustrate any animal or fantasy creature (eg. dragon, worm, cat) that bends or spread its limbs/wings/tails etc... to resemble that particular letter.

Keep in mind that the creature should form the shape of the letter itself, rather than wrapping itself around an regular letter. Have a look here for some ideas.

Canvas size - Max 120 x 120.
Colours - Max 16.
Transparency - Required.
Animation - No.

CHALLENGE RULES

• Participants have until this upcoming Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) to submit their entry (strict). Don't forget to check the 'Submit to weekly challenge' checkbox.
• Only new pixels allowed.
• Open to all members.
• Posting WIPs in this thread or in new threads in the WIP section is highly encouraged, but ONLY SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ART.

• Every Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) the previous week's entries are judged.
• Every week a new voting poll will be posted for previous week's entries.

I think the challenge should be reworded so that the animal's name starts with that letter. Dragons make a D, Monkeys make an M, Snakes make an S, etc, etc...

I think that'll give the challenge some much needed zing!

Well, people can do that if they want...I'll think about changing the rules if you enter something.

what do you mean by "needs more of a defined outline" ?

for the underbelly you can also make a semi-transparency with photoshop (reduce the opacity), but i don't know if it's allowed as a pixel-art x)

why not, you're probably right 

My main concern is the dorsal fin - the leading edge is the same colour as the underbelly and as such it kind of blends in.

I've been using MSpaint at the moment so I can't see what it'll look like with transparency, going to have to figure that one out before submission i guess!

I'm trying to rush it a bit at the last minute and it's turning out bad. x_x

I think I'll just do the giraffe at my own pace and submit it late (not in the contest) in a few days~
