I'm not exactly sure what resolution should be used for a general mockup. I think it would depend on the console/platform that is being emulated, but what if you don't have a specific platform in mind?
I am planning on creating at least one mockup, since they are one of my favorite uses of pixel art, but I don't know what resolution or screen dimensions to use. I hope this is clear and easy to understand. Thanks! |

Do whatever you like!
Most screens are horizontal (just like your eyes) with exceptions for mobile phones. You could take something from these lists http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Vector_Video_Standards5.svg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Vector_Video_Standards2.svg Or make up something you like yourself! 23x 224 2424x 119 55x55 I bet all these sizes could make great mockups. Artistic freedom! Or, just create some sprites, some tilesets, whatever you like. Then create a composition out of those, and once you are done crop your canvas and you have a nice sized mockup :D |
