This collab is a bit self-explainatory, but here are some rules anyway, because I am obsessed with power.

The Almost-Ten Commandments:

1. None shall make two following phases, there will always be someone between.
2. Size will always be 128x128. Else they will not align properly.
3. Thou will always use a transparent background.
4. There can be different species evolving. Just try to keep up.
5. Talking about keeping up, reserve a place when you're making a phase.
6. Never mind this rule.
   
7. And never mind this one too.
   
8. No using BMPs. They are too big. No using JPEGs too. They look awful.
   

That's about it. Ah yeah, the first phase.

Maybe a little big canvas, but meh.

I took more of a predatory turn with it.

I think rule #6 just prevents it from being a collaboration. Because in my opinion and in my vocabulary "collab" includes each person adding on new things to a piece. So if we just make a totally new piece then it's not longer a collab but more of a contest of some sort...

even though its not my right to do it it is pritty clear no1 like rule no,
6 it doesnt make it a colab just who can make the best evolved
version themselves, i think it should be changed to u must use the
previous evolution to base yours on, then mayby it could be made
into some kind of morph, i think more people would participate
then... so even though im not realy allowd as its not my thread... i

hate to rain on your parade, but evolve does infatc not mean "GET
BIGGER" evolving is a life form adapting to its surroundings so it can
survive better, if an extra eye means it can see better it might
evolve to have an extra eye if an extra pear of legs helps it cover
ground better then it would evolve with another pair of legs, if theres
a threat it will need to defend itself it might eveolve to have horns ect
ect, evolving is adapting to the enviroment so why cant we carry o
with the old one.... plus urs is basicly the same but not as good as in
not shaded or anything so i say we continue with the old one.....

or infact start again!!

its the simplest of things... a blob dont just go strait into a goo
monster, it can grow legs, fur scales anything, and it doesnt have to
stay green either... js go wild

Aeolidia Prehistoria:

after living for a couple million years next to water, as to not dry out its slime, it adapted itself to submersed life by sprouting fils and gills, and it changed its outlook to better be camouflaged amongst the plants inhabiting the river floor.

this creature , not unlike Aeolidia papillosa, feeds on plants, and the occasional creature that lives on them, is very capable of survivimg under high pressure(due to its liquidesque nature), but cannot survive in salt water.

Not too much of a change but it now has more of a sort of tripod arrangement.
It latches on to fruit using its two pincers and sting. :O

That's awesome, I love the way this one has modifications that make sense and it's a little less extreme between stages.

the creature got to big to fly so he/she shed their wings, now its a
land creature it needed big teeth to ward of predators. it also
needed another 2 eyes because.. *thinks* use ur own imagination.
maybe the next stage of evolution will have even more defences
