I don't think that 8 is going to work. By looking at 5 it's already been established at that level of the horizon that the entire scene is underwater, unless the ground above water is now green. In either case, it will be difficult, if not impossible to be able to connect those two sections together seamlessly. Does anyone else see this?

There are 3 empty tiles in between and seamlessness won't be an issue. One of them can make the transition between the land and water. But if you're talking about the perspective, #8 is Iso and #4 is kinda indefinite (not exactly horizon though). |

But its fixed now :) |

Since I'm taking your neighboring tile I downloaded your latest update and found it to have 41 colors o.O Perhaps your outputting as png is actually a png24 file instead of a png8 which will always add colors and artifacts. gifs are always safer when color issues are a concern. I'm going to transition from your rocks to ice and snow so maybe I'll ask you in a bit to help me blend the left side of your rocks a little bit if needed, k. I did some changes on the PS png-format-handle with adding an own script, since it has some well known flaws maybe i oversaw something. But it obviously doubled the colors plus 1 transparent, and that eventho pjspecs was showing it with 20+1 transparent o.o Odd, but glad the GIF solved it. The transition to ice sounds awesome, and sure just let me know when / where i should change / add something :] |

@codewarrior, this is a rough 1st WIP. I'm just testing color options and variations for now. I may be able to leave your edge alone and mostly place ice on the left of my tile. Don't edit your tile for now.
![]() I am thinking of trying to place a floating iceberg/structure up front that maybe someone else can continue underwater and blends into your reef. |

I'd love to be a part of this! I've never done iso before though, so if I don't cut it I will bow out for someone else.
I like the looks of #15, here's what I have so far: ![]() Trying to keep it simple so I can take on neighbor's stuff, and because I'm new at iso perspective. |

@ Jalonso, nice update :)
thinking of your small icebergs, weren't you guys searching for a minicollab idea.. how about the titanic (or any other famous, big, sunken ship) with big cracks, seacreatures peaking out, seaplants all over it and whatnot. Could still peak a bit out of the water leaning on the tip of an iceberg or whatsoever. Or something like the Black pearl with its crew of undeads, would love to see their underwater-walk in pixels ^.- Maybe as a change instead of just another big sea-snake or something. :] Edited by codewarrior - 22 December 2011 at 12:37pm |

Yea that came to me a few days ago but didn't get the attention. I think everyone, including me, is a bit more into fantasy. I'm thinking about a mini under water city or a big temple of sorts. Does anyone know such thing?

good old Atlantis or Ys? ^.^
Think both of them could give enough material to transfere that into a fantasy style. Edited by codewarrior - 22 December 2011 at 12:41pm |

Atlantis is believed to be a normal city which sunk and got destroyed. Can we find an underwater illustration of it?
Edit: Of course we can just sink the original atlantis too... How bout this? Edited by Gecimen - 22 December 2011 at 12:43pm |

![]() Here's the final version of my tile, unless there's something that needs changing or that people think doesn't look good. I didn't change any of the edge pixels since the last version. At this point it has about 100 layers, nearly all of them active. Also I managed to use every color. Edited by tanuki - 27 December 2011 at 8:28pm |

@Gavralcraw: As for the whirlpool, did you put a fissure at the bottom of it? For a whirlpool to work, there must be three things: 1, supply of water(at the top), 2, a release of water(at the bottom), and 3, circular motion. From what I see you have two of the three, unless that dark spot is the fissure...

@ airstyle: hmmm.. as far as i know it doesnt necessarily need a fissure or release beneath a whirl:
A whirlpool is a swirling body of water usually produced by ocean tides. The vast majority of whirlpools are not very powerful. More powerful ones are more properly termed maelstroms. Vortex is the proper term for any whirlpool that has a downdraft. Very small whirlpools can easily be seen when a bath or a sink is draining, but these are produced in a very different manner from those in nature. Smaller whirlpools also appear at the base of many waterfalls. (Wikipedia : Whirlpool ) So i guess it doesn't really matter if he puts a fissure down there or not =) |
