CHALLENGE: Pixel Joint Turns Ten

This month marks the 10th birthday of Pixel Joint. Technically, it was around before that in a limited form - but let's just call that the gestation period. If you're interested, here's a view of the site from a decade ago.

Anyway, this week, sprite your own interpretation of one of iSTVAN's three nerd mascot concepts shown below. It can be wildly different in style, as long as it's clear that it's based on one of the designs shown below:



Your piece must be at least 3 heads tall. Just so we're all on the same page, the designs above are <2 heads tall. Also, check out this illustration from Andrew Loomis.

Canvas Size - Max 100 x 100.
Colours - Max 32. Transparency counts as a colour.
Transparency - Required.
Animation - Optional.

CHALLENGE RULES

• Participants have until this upcoming Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) to submit their entry (strict). Don't forget to check the 'Submit to weekly challenge' checkbox.
• Only new pixels allowed.
• Open to all members.
• Posting WIPs in this thread or in new threads in the WIP section is highly encouraged, but ONLY SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ART.

• Every Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) the previous week's entries are judged.
• Every week a new voting poll will be posted for previous week's entries.
• Winner announced the following week.

Who says that's drag and not a female concept? I mean they are three different concepts, not three versions of one concept...

Remember people fewer heads tall means more room for head detail. (At least three means probably best to stay at 3 unless you're going to use the rest of your space to do something really cool with the body AND can have a cool face w/ hait at like 20x20 pixels.)

Are the single pixel things flies? or are they supposed to just be PIXELS like pixelart power? hah...I guess it doesn't matter it is supposed to be 'our interpretation' afterall.

I would also love to ask why the mascot is a big-toothed dork...I mean there are certainly better images to have to represent this community.

Had a quick go at it. Not really happy with how it reads. I think I'll try a more cartoony version for better readability.

You should go as far as you can take the nerd which should not be a problem for you. So long as its obvious where the source comes from its cool.

@seryon: I did not realize your entry was an entry when I saw it in the gallery. I'd say the key characteristics are missing, the red hair, glasses, and teeth.

Created a quick entry based on a game I released last year...



Originally one of three... chose the one I thought was strongest.

Theres my entry! My first pixel art ever! I would love some constructive critism!
