My new creation hasn't been accepted for a while. Usually its the next afternoon I see its been approved, but it's been two days since anything has been approved.

There are pieces on the public queue that have been there longer than yours.

In general, pieces that are clearly acceptable get approved quickly, and pieces that have obvious problems are rejected quickly. Works that are in the middle often stay on the queue for a while. This happens if the mods aren't sure about accepting it and wait for members' votes to accumulate to they can make a decision based on those.

That particular piece has pillow shading, which is a bad thing in most situations. That could be contributing to the piece not being accepted. It might still be accepted in the end if enough people don't mind it, but it can take a while since many members vote "no" on pieces with issues like that.
