Yes yes, the icons are very rad.  That's undeniable.

But.

The flavors are pretty much horrible. ALL of them are some variant of "people that exert violence on others for fun and/or profit" except for the working stiff but... who wants to be a working stiff anyways?? Narrow, creepy, uninteresting. The last two are subjective, the first one isn't.

Somehow it feels like I'm breaking a taboo here but... I can't really care.

Let's see:
-I don't want to be a cop.
-I don't want to be part of a criminal gang.
-I don't want to join the army.
-I don't want to join the navy, either.
-I have no interest in martial arts and I don't even know what ANY of the ranks mean (I don't know what "button man" means, either.
-I don't want to be a corporate drone. 
-I don't want to be a hired assassin.
-I don't want to be a psychotic killer.

Frankly, the single one that doesn't give me the total creeps is the Navy category, so that's why I chose it. But that doesn't mean I like it.

If they have to be "person that does X" concepts, there's so many sh*t that doesn't have to revolve around "action guy that beats or kills other people for fun or profit":

Psychic, Astronaut, Inventor, Scholar, Wanderer, Minstrel, Caveman, ...

If they have to be "person that does realistic violent X" concepts, there's still a lot of stuff where ranks could be drawn from without directly falling into "modern criminals vs state enforcers":

Knight, Samurai, Fencer, Archer, Wrestler, ...

If they could be ANYTHING, well, SKY IS THE LIMIT:

Mutant, Rampant AI, Celestial Bodies, Cyborgs, Action Archaeologist, Felines, Dinosaurs, ... , whatever, really.

TL;DR: Leveling flavor selection is narrow and it's all bad vibes. Could use some breadth and cheerfulness.

	Yeah, we could use a refresh on that front. I’m not at all a fan of the narrow selection we have now.

	Last time this topic came up, I suggested at least having a "generic" option with no theme, if they weren't going to add more themes. The current selections really are all rather unpleasant. I went with the police one because it's the only one that isn't outright juvenile or depressing.

	I'd like to suggest something that's actually themed around pixel art - for example, a Mario Bros.-esque "?" block that starts out in a black-and-white two-color scheme and gets progressively more "complex" in terms of color usage and design (from two colors to four, from four to six, six to eight, and so on).

	This sometimes comes up. We don't really care much either way and it is possible to add but not change the list because all existing users already have one checked. This whole rank think was an Ensellitis idea and he is violent and aggressive and pixelled all the icons. The existing icons were pixelled by someone (don't remember who). Want a change then make a list and pixel all the icons and submit for review. PJ is a community ;)

Who hasn't liked a cop show, or a mafia movie, or a military board or video game. We've all liked some. What the hell, COURT MARTIAL movies are one of my favourite sub-sub-genres. So it seems the issue is open up for expanding. I'll try to come up with something.

	Please note that there's so much to fix and edit and find solutions since the site update that this would be very low on the list of priorities and the level structure is maybe limited to 10 ???

Sure, no problem. But adding a new levelup choice I'm pretty much sure it's a copypasting code issue. And who said it's no enough with 10 ?
