I keep getting ill so far this year, so this isn't quite as far along as I'd hoped. Still, wanted to get a WIP up this weekend just to show I've started.

Planning to get the background done first before finalizing the characters (my weak point in iso). When it's complete, it'll hopefully show Thetis dipping a baby Achilles in the river Styx:

Haha, I was originally planning to draw him out of the water and about to be dunked, but after I've done that I might give an 'underwater baby' version a try and see which I like more. Sounds like a fun and interesting challenge!

Disregarded finishing the background first because I felt I should attack the harder bit head on. Now I'm feeling better, progress should be a bit faster.

Some stuff came up and I haven't quite finished this but it's close. I tried an underwater baby and... yeah, it might be too much of a challenge for my current skill level. I think I'm committing to him being just above the water.

Here's where I'm at. Just need to tidy up the background. Might have more of a play with Thetis' hair. I don't think the ponytail screams 'Ancient Greece' but I think it does make her more readable as a woman at this resolution.

Sorry for the big delay! Some things came up, but this is done. Changed Thetis' hair to a bun which I still think reads clearly as female but which I think is more historically/culturally accurate (happy to be told I'm wrong as I am no historian of Ancient Greece).
