I think it looks great for a first try. The shape is unusual, but I thikn that's the effect you want.. Very nice

First try? That's pretty awesome. You've got the AA pretty much in the bag, but i dont understand why the back of him is AAd with a lighter colour... Nice character design anyway, reminded me of Krysis' killer whale.

I'd get rid of the thin highlight on his back and just AA it normally. Also, you might want to make him more rounded, but it looks ok as it is. I think the black colour in the eye is wasted, i'd replace that with the darkest blue. Also, i'd make the white of the eye slightly larger with the lightest blue, and perhaps only use one pixel of white. Those are all the crits i have.

Ok, I updated and tried to fix what you said. I think it looks better.

I think it's cool, ESPECIALLY for your first try. Excellent work. Maybe make a ocean scene/mockup?
