Post your best ideas for a pixel joint mascot.  We might use it in future collaborations including games so it's worth putting some effort in.  Don't be afraid to post ideas, doodles, reference pics and pixel art to get the creative juices flowing.  Hopefully the mascot will take shape through -- say it with me now -- collaboration.

Computer geek is definitely a good candidate.  Combining the art and the nerd would be a good direction for a mascot me thinks.

i like the idea of the nerd, but how about you stick  it  in a wizard costume and have the  dungeon and dragons kinda  outfit (dunno what it looks  like though, just a blue robe)

then he could be like a spell caster / nerd / pixel art

oh yeah, ligers are lions and tigers mated.

they are like the best animal ever, not in the wild yet though.

How about a nerd sketching something with a cursor? That's... Pixel-art-ish...

are mascot should be a nerd kinda dressed up like a sponge bob with a pencil always in his right hand and should have the middle of his glasses if he has one taped in the middle  thats my idea

I had this idea to design the mascot as a computer mouse with a face and arms and legs, but I had trouble not making it look like a bean.

The nerd idea could definately work! I'm gonna sketch up sometimes characters!

nawh. I reckon the whole magic floating pixels as weapons would work best. I suppose his other hand could hold a mouse. Howabout a cursor as like a dagger? And I'm thinkin' Kevin. Thats a good nerdy name (apologies to any kevins out there).

That is a helluva nerd iSTVAN.  The juggling pixels, overbite, glasses and outfit are all golden.  The only two things that bother me are the hat and the lack of feet. I think the hat needs to have the little nub at the top and some sort of strap so it doesn't look like a weird hairdo. Other than that I think iSTVAN has almost nailed it the first go though I don't want that to stop anyone else from submitting their ideas.

Sibix mentioned ugiene or Eugene.  That's not a bad nerdy name. Kelly (sorry keller) is kind of a sissy/nerdy name for a guy.

Yeah, please post more attempts if you've got an idea. This isn't meant to be a cheering section for iSTVAN's piece (although I'm sure he appreciates it).

I had a gerbil once a long time ago when I was a kid... my sister and I had him out of the cage once and he started to run away on us. My sister grabbed for him to keep him still but, grabbed his tail by accident and the thing ripped off. The gerbil lived another 2 weeks

As we all know we pixel artists arent confined to just one pair of overalls and hair styles. I designed some different onsombles for my pixel mascot:

To the left we see the original pixel-dork; to the right he is dressed in his favourite death metal T-shirt (shudders), trendy'cool' glasses and hairdo, and the tightest jeans he could find; next to him he is dressed in his 'But I'm a Ladeee' drag-wear, with suitable wig, skirt and lipstick.

 

 

The second nerd hair is real slick and the chica is perfect -- especially the "man hands". Still love the glasses of the first. 

The second reminds me a bit of Marty McFly.

Eugine Max (you) is the only one up for the job, as he stands before the Student Council, he is set the challenge of saving chess club and becoming the hero of Arty - Farty Collage.

Man, an unimpressive picture, but I couldn't get it how I wanted, cause I can't do cute. It is funny to be portrayed as a nerd, and ISTVAN's pictures are way better than mine, but I figured makin a pixel as our mascot more appropriate, seeing I have no buck teeth, have random shaggy hair, don't wear glasses, and don't even have a shirt with pockets :P

Yeah, I guess ignore the hands, they suck the most.
