Team name:
PWReborn Team Project name: R.I.F.T. Reconnaissance Into Foreign Territory Brief description: RIFT is a 2d ORRP made using the PlayerWorlds engine. Now, don’t be discouraged because of the beginner engine, as we are a very professional (working-wise) team, and take our work very seriously. Excerpt from the design document: " RIFT is an online game that follows a group of elite military units that travel into the unknowns of a seemingly hell-like place, the Rift. More accurately, you are that elite military group. It all started when an odd portal opened up outside of Canto Colony*, the newest military installation, and newest colony of the Vertex Empire*. The Vertex Empire immediately sent a caravan of its finest scientists, and finest soldiers to this strange, abandoned portal. Upon entrance the caravan was welcomed with an army of Spawn* soldiers. Upon this, a massive battle started. Soon the humans were pushed out of the Rift, and back to Canto Colony where the spawns were welcomed by a large group of soldiers, and over the course of a few days, the victors were the humans. The humans regrouped, and gathered supplies, as the war against the Covenant of Spawns was about to begin. " This game has currently been in production for 1 week, and designing is about done. We now need some basic pixel art for tiles, each tile is 32x32 and we have a theme in mind, upon sending in your application we can discuss this further. Our current design document is 8 pages long (Very short, I know) outlining the major features. Later in development we will be brainstorming more elaborate features, but our major features are all mapped out. We have no need for a technical design document, since the engine is already completed and we already know how to implement said major features. We are creating this game to prove a fun, functional creative game can be created using the PlayerWorlds engine. Target aim: Freeware. Compensation: Compensation will be decided upon further inspection of work, and amount of work you will do. Technology: - PlayerWorlds Engine Version 1.4.2 - VB Script for scripting purposes - Paint, GIMP, and Photoshop for graphics design (As well as a tablet / any other tools welcome) - Microsoft Word for design document Talent needed: - Pixel Artist (1x): Duties of a Pixel Artist would be creating 32x32 tiles for RIFT. Ranging from grass, dirt, buildings, shrubbery, and other misc. objects. Will need a basic set of tiles within the next week or two (About 10-20 tiles). Possibly work on the rest of the tiles afterwards. Team structure: Me – Game Designer, Administrative Duties (Dev. Journal, Advertisement, Recruitment, Design Document, manage forums, etc.), and Level Design. Been apart of project since conception. Rezeyu – Graphics Designer, Game Designer, and Scripter. Main benefactor. Been apart of project since conception. Alucard – Game Designer, Mapper, and Level Design. Been apart of project since conception. Website: www.PWReborn.com (Support Site for Engine, current staff manages it) http://z8.invisionfree.com/PW_Reborn/index.php?showtopic=262&st=0&#last (Development Journal) We also have a development forum only available for Staff to view, containing various pieces of art, the design document, and other resources. We will be working on a main website (RIFT.com or something of the sort) as soon as the project is near release. Contacts: Contact me here: Email me: TechFlavored@gmail.com From there I can give you my MSN, then we can continue our talks from there. or PM me here, or just reply with your MSN, whichever you prefer. Additional Info: We are a dedicated team, very dedicated. All except Alucard have back-ground knowledge in Game Design, and Programming. We have not collaborated to completing any other game, but Rezeyu has completed 2 other PlayerWorlds games, as well as an edit of the Mirage Source engine, and I have completed many text based games created with Python and I am learning Pygame. I have designed six to eight games, complete with a design document, from basic concepts, to in-depth details. Alucard has created one other PlayerWorlds game, and has little other background in game creation. Feedback: Criticism (Not on the engine), Encouraging, ‘All’ Edited by Hushed - 22 February 2007 at 7:24pm |
