Hey! I'm just after some C&C to improve this, before i begin colouring.

I'm really not happy with the roofing. I think you can tell what i'm trying to acheive, but unfortunetly it hasn't worked out.

Cheers, Saint Minor

I agree With Jalon it usually works out if you just start coloring you'll see if somethings wrong as you go.

The left side of the roof looks a little low.

Hello Saint Minor,

In case you are going for 'standard' perspective I
would suggest that you take a larger canvas and
put the image on it. Then draw lines from
the bottom of the building to the left top of the
larger canvas.

On that line you take your first vanishing point.
Usually that is the same height as the eye of the
viewer. So if you want a slightly upperview
of the building the vanishing point is above the
building.
Draw all the horiziontal lines to this point.

Let me show you a DRAFT of how you could do it:

Please notice that a lot of your lines are not going
to the same vanishing point.
There are more rules but this is one of the basic
ones that needs to be followed.

Good luck.

Best regards from

M.E.

Edit: Very well spotted MashPotato .. The horizon is where
the eyes of the viewer are .. In my example (which was
extreme draft :) ) the horizon is more of a diagonal.....

Also note that in M.E.'s example, the horizon is not horizontal, which makes things a little more complicated since that means the viewer's head is tilted.  It may be easier to choose 2 vanishing points on a horizontal line, so you don't have to worry about things looking skewed

Disclaimer: I am often confused by perspective myself
