@PO: Thanks for the enthusiasm mate!

@Shark: I want to avoid having both the keyboard and the mouse in play. I find it somewhat unprofessional and it ruins the retro gaming feel. Your observation that the mouse would speed up action may well be true, but like I said, I'm sure the player will soon learn to use the keyboard method of sucking quite efficiently.

@Swifty: I like your thinking! Perhaps, to keep things all on one plain, BH could have to release the object/enemy then jump over it as it passes through where he stood. Or, it could work like how you describe, and it could simple be a special ability that you learn as you progress through the levels.

@Boder: I just googled Boogerman then, it seems like a pretty funny comedy superhero game! Was there anything else in particular you wanted to draw my attention to?

Note to the Art Department: Decide if things will be outlined in black or not and then stick with it. The sprite sheet has combinations of with/without. This is really annoying to retouch later on so take some time and do it soon, mkay. I highly recommended going with black throughout. (Did I just say that  )

On other things the sucking radius is a great thing. I suppose the UI can be blue, but now it just blends in with the sky, oh well guess I'll go scrappify my BGs now.

@Jalonso: The actual character sprites are consistantly given black outlines. Only the backdrop items contain variations. This is intentional so that the objects blend well to form background that isn't full of ugly and unneccessary black outlines. Thanks for your concern though! Good point about the top bar, but keep in mind it won't always sit atop a sky background.

Here's a couple of new things. Black Hole big, used for the main menu.

And a sort of list of characters that appear in this chapter and possibly other chapters.

That depends on whether you would want the game to be more like a self taught game, where you have to learn the moves yourself, experiment with them and find different techniques. That's if you want to do the jump thing.

If you want it to be a power, as I suggested (but now im doubting since you presented your idea xD), well then its more of a.... dunno how to say it, maybe a rutine game? With that I mean, that you pretty much follow the same concept through the whole game.

Thinking of it more closely, I like your suggestion a little better, since you could combine different moves and find your own fighting style, which in the end creates uniqueness.

@Nitram: Thanks man. Volcano Man is the character you're referring to. He's a personal favourite of mine aswell.

@Swifty: The idea to have various new abilities learnt as the game progresses would mean I'd need to structure the game very carefully. At this stage, I'm only working towards a five level game that demonstrates Black Holes potentional as a video game, so I won't  have a great deal of room for new abilities. So at this stage, yes, I'd like to to aim things towards the self taught type of platformer game. Thanks again for providing suggestions.

Demon, I still need to talk to you further about the game. I want to get some serious discussions happening, epsecially now that you're promoting BH on your new BlueStar website. I will be in contact with you.

EDIT: And sorry for the long gap between posts. I finished my first semester of university and I'm now home for a five week holiday, which means Black Hole progress!

Not exactly pixel art, but it's certainly Black Hole related. I drew this by hand then coloured it in photoshop. It's a new promotional poster that I'm gonna try and use to sell my comic book to some local stores.

EDIT: Dang. It should be bigger than that. I'm at home so I can't upload things on my server, so I've been forced to use photobucket--and as you can see, it resizes things. Still looks pretty hot to me though.

Thanks Ensellitis man. I'll be working on the first ' Black Hole and Friends' comic over the next few days. I'm gonna retouch the first episode, draw up a new cover and fiddle with the various mini-cartoons that will appear in the comic.

@Demon: Cheers man. The new art should be a lot cooler. I'll try to catch up with you when I can.

@+Dark Visionary+: Thanks a lot mate! I'm currently redoing the art on first issue. I'll be adding two new extra pages aswell. Hopefully, if all goes well, I'll be able to sell the comic to some local comic book stores. If you want to keep up on any Black Hole progress check out my blog here.  

As far as the game goes, I still need to do some tiles for the menus and really just flesh out the level designs before the art can progress further.
