Okay, I have an HP Printer/Scanner/Copier and I
want to scan something. Normally, I would press the 'Scan to' button on
the actual printer, and select MSPaint or Photoshop. But, it gave me an
error message this time. So I look at a help program for it, and it
says I need to do something in HP Director. The only problem is, I
can't run HP Director! I double-clicked, right-clicked and selected
Open and Run As, and it still won't open! Can anyone help me with this?

What does the error message say, exactly?

I don't know a lot about scanners (I don't think many people here do, since this is a pixel art forum), but you could try going into Photoshop and clicking File -> Import -> [printer/scanner/copier name]. Not a fix, just an alternative that might work. |

The error message is "You need to install or run HP software to use this feature." I looked in the help files and it said I needed to run HP Director.

And HP Director won't run for some reason... |

Have you tried reinstalling the drivers/software?

Yes, it's plugged in. That was one of the first things I checked. And, uh, I'll try to reinstall the software.

Edit: Now I'm pissed. I tried to reinstall it, but all that happened was uninstall it so now I can't even print anything. And I can't find anything that might reinstall it. Edited by E-Bomb - 15 December 2007 at 3:01pm |
