Today is a very sad day for me... after a few back and forths it was clear that "truth" would have to be the first member banned from this forum.  I honestly am not happy about it at all.  There's a lot of members here that have had some pretty good spats with people getting their feelings hurt, but that's OK as long as it can be worked out. Some misundertandings are to be expected on any forum.  

Unfortunately, I just couldn't see any positive outcome when dealing with "truth".  He pissed off a lot of people (including me) in a short amount of time and repeated attempts to reason with him seemed to just make the situation worse. 

I don't take banning a member lightly and I hope you all understand our perspective. If you feel we've been too hasty or are just plain wrong please read through truth's posts and post your thoughts here.

How are you gonna stop the guy re-registering under a different
name, as long as he isn't stupid enough to call himself "truth2".

Good riddance. Glad you nipped him/her in the bud, for had you not, many-a-war would have surely followed.

I, like Luke, do not agree with banning someone unless it absolutely calls for it.  Such as illegal activity, threatening, or blatent hostility.  Usually in my forums it could be rectified very quickly and no banning would be needed, usually it turned out to be a misunderstanding or a lapse of thinking. 

However, after reading all of the posts by "truth," it was pointed out to him several times that he basically needs to sit back, relax, and think before you type.  But he still continued with his lies and his hostility.  So even though banning is a last resort thing to me, this banning was completely justified.

Perhaps after some time, he could be re-invited to join the forum, but on a probationary status, "one strike and your out" kind of thing.  But I doubt even that would cause anything to be different from this time.

Wow truth got snuffed out quick. A good call in my opinion. Not because people think truth is a dick, of which I am in complete agreeance, but because truth just completely went off topic and crapped on about things that simple have no place in this forum. Constantly. Over and over. So I think it was a good call.

Ensellitis: Haha, I figured I was wrong, somehow. In messing around with trying to get ye ole damn Xbox hooked up wireless, I found a way to change my computer's IP. Apparently that's not the same thing.

Shark: its a bunch less fun to yell when he prolly won't see it for a long time, plus it would be kinda awkward. And the guy was really beyond reasoning.

I doubt he'll try to come back, he came here with no wholesome purpose, banning him will not have phased the guy at all. He'll probably continue rampaging about unfortunate forums everywhere.

OH my GOD thank you. The only post I saw from him was the community totem pole post where he arrogantly accused so-lou of using filters. That really pissed me off. Then I went and searched his name and found all kinds of posts by him. Oh my god.. that guy is the most negative serious person ever. I wonder if he has any real life friends. It seemed like every single post he made, he either insulted someone, had very malicious opinions, or had a very negative thing to say.. god he like really needs to lighten up. Why is it that pixeljoint always attracts the most dramatic negative people. (no offence saiklor)  But truth was just so damn annoying. And he kept on babbling about murders and criminals and stuff. God.. what a prude.

People need to LIGHTEN UP around these parts, we all suffer enough negatism throughout school/work and when we come home we dont want to argue and be badgered on the internet. We come to PJ to learn and have fun.

That is so bizarre that he said that about my Jack totem - in a weird way he complimented me.  I don't even exactly know what is a 'filter' anyway, and don't think there is one in MS FRIGGIN PAINT. I only use Adobe photoshop to convert bmps to gifs, other than that it's just me and my mouse in Paint.

 

I wasn't at all offended or anything, because it's not like he was calling my stuff bad, just being very ignorant and making outlandish, untruthful statements.  The guy was weird.

Well, I definitely got my 2 cents. I'm just glad to see him gone.

..might I now guess why he was banned? Calling stuff trash and accusing people of being devil worshippers? He seems to be one of those extremists; if so he's spreading his hate into comments on the site..

He is pissing me off in the galleries now with his unnecessary comments...  He should get a sitewide ban...

Ah I see that's the one... (he got crazy with ensellitis over one of my pics - or rather ensellitis' comment on it...)
