sorry to be on a weird topic but for a little while now I've had countless random people contacting me on msn, saying they found my name on "a forum" or "a webpage" and then, basically, asking me to webcam and "play" with them

I am exceedingly grumpy about this, it's a hassle and a waste of my time and I'm trying to track which forum I'm on which is causing this influx of.......rude people.

So has anyone else on this forum had this problem recently? (I'm female but one of the contactors THOUGHT I was male so it may be an issue for people of either gender)

Tell them to EMAIL you, not just chat with you, so you can have thier email address, say that you will send them something (anything really), you then can tell them that you have thier IP address and tell them you are 18.  I had my lil sister do that, and most of them never tried again, and if they do, then you have thier IP address and that can be fun.  =)

There are some stupided jerks in this world. Theres nothing you can do except ignore them.

I havn't gotten anything like that happen to me, but you just have to ignore them and block them.

I gotten a few random people adding me to their MSN lists...but the weird thing is, they never talk to me.  I see them online, and clearly they went to some slight effort to add me to their list but then nothing.  Kind of creeps me out :P

I have not once added anyone to my msn unless they were re-newing their old email account or asked me to add them - weird eh!

 

I get a lot of strange people adding me to their list....usually 'hi sow-Lou do u have a webcam?' : / and in most cases they are a lot of strange men who don't speak english properly. And back in the day of 'dolling' I used to get tonnes of young girls adding me to their list saying 'hey so-lou just wanted to say hi and your work is so inspiring' o____0 fangirlswtf?  people are straaaange.

You can play with yourself. Just find some way of doing it that doesn't
involve pissing off random people. :P

Well, I have been contacted by some random people, but they were
probably somebody at a forum that I didn't know. The only time I've
ever been messaged by somebody I had NO idea as to who they
were was on AIM. Some dolt named WarnPeopleBot just kept
spamming some stupid message like "OH CRAP!" or something. Of
course, it might've been some idiot from some place I went to
being... an idiot.

But, how about when you get some person that you know from
school or somewhere that is annoying, and they IM you. Then you
block them. Then they come up with another account and start being
annoying again. Then you block them, and they come up with
another account. It gets pretty annoying after blocking them for the
10th time. :)

HAHA so-lou that's just a little too strange for me.

I can deal with someone randomly IMing me, but wanting to deparately know my asl? AND wanting to connect via webcam?

God people are strange.

why would you guys add somebody to your messenger if you didn't know who they were to begin with? I have enough annoying friends on msn that I don't need any more annoying people that I don't know.

weird people..... nobody adds me with those intentions... but there's always the almighty "block" button
