CHALLENGE: Red and Green

Create an image using the colours below; you do not have to stick to any specific theme for this challenge.

Canvas Size - Max 250 x  250.
Colours - Max 12. You must only use colours from this palette:

Transparency - No.
Animation - Optional.

CHALLENGE RULES

  • Participants have until this upcoming Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) to submit their entry (strict). Don't forget to check the 'Submit to weekly challenge' checkbox.
  • Only new pixels allowed.
  • Open to all members.
  • Posting WIPs in this thread or in new threads in the WIP section is highly encouraged, but ONLY SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ART.

CHALLENGE JUDGING

  • Every Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) the previous week's entries are judged.
  • Every week a new voting poll will be posted for previous week's entries.
  • Winner announced the following week.

CHALLENGE PRIZES/GOODIES

  • Top three finishers will receive an award displayed in your PJ gallery profile for all to see and envy.
  • Top finisher gets to call the following week's challenge...sweet.
  • 'Participation' ribbons will be given for all who enter.
  • No matter what happens you get challenged :)

I see you copied 2 ideas from 2 different pieces, you didnt actually just used them as reference.

So everyone doing dragons + bowser made me want to ditch my current thing and try my hand at a dragon. Alas, I don't know crop about anatomy, so:


Rough sketch is rough. How does the sketchy anatomy look?
I also tried to do some foreshortening... which I am also not overly great at.

EDIT: Somehow I did not spot that awful pointy elbow. XD

@Drazelic: I would post it. This palette suits your style. I would doing something extra with the fire, though. Add some more light depth to it.

I like it ! But it's a bit too complex, too much little parts = difficulties to focus our eyes where we should do, IMO.

It was effectively 'lunging' at human enemies, about to wipe out a helicopter. I was really just using it as an excuse to draw a dragon again, because I have not done so since I was a kid. So, I might draw a smaller one playing with a present or something - more in theme with the challenge.

Keep in mind, she said new to PIXEL ART, not art in general. The form and shading and whatnot learned from other art media will transfer to the others. It's just learning how to use it from there.

By theme, I kind of meant fitting of the colour pallet. My large piece and style I was doing for it wasn't really fit the pallet anyway. So, I'll probably do my big dragon in an alternate pallet.

Current design:


Just can't get my sleeping dragon right. The entire concept is literally a dragon sleeping in front of the fireplace. ^_^

So far working on the cave walls. Ignore the pink line as that is just a horizon like line I was using for perspective.

Working on the floor and the walls, finally got the dragon to a state I like after bulk changing. Probably a few places I could fix but for now I'm happy with my sleeping dragon.
