Wow, jalonso. Looks really great! And it definitely resembles that guy.
![]() I kind of need help with the pants. When the character is done, I'm going to think about the animation. Edited by Chace - 18 November 2008 at 5:16am |

This is my WIP. C&C will be really appreciated, however I don't even know if I'm going to finish, 'cause animating isn't really my best. |

Yep, I agree. I was trying to go for a certain style, but it didn't really work out. So here's another sprite:
![]() I hope this one's better. It has 15 colors, but I'll have to make it transparent, so that'll be 16. :) |

lol I decided to give him a massive ear, since it is the most distinctive feature of the image. He's purple for no particular reason.
Also, I’m clearly not entering this. Just
making this because I’m having a break from working on other stuffs. =3 |

@Jeremy, go to your Gallery Profile and switch your theme to a dark one briefly then look at your sprite using that dark theme and notice all the flesh colored stray pixels around the sprite. I'd fix that.
If you use Photoshop/ImageReady to make your pixelart then see this http://www.gamedev.net/reference/art/features/pixelart1/page3.asp @skamocore, let me know when its cool to copy/paste all your comments to me on last week's challenge, mkay. Edited by jalonso - 21 November 2008 at 4:32pm |

Backgrounds are NO this time.
The color count was not made clear so UP TO 16 colors with transparency counting as one color. Get giffy from FAQ page to make transparent. use www.iaza.com to animate the frames (up to 16, I believe). Others may suggest some other free animation software too, I hear unFreeze works well and is possibly free :| Edited by jalonso - 22 November 2008 at 4:43pm |

uh, UP to 16...D: and I went and made mine exactly 16
I was under the impression that 16 meant 16 no more or no less...I thought that the whole single number thing was cleared up already in other challenge discussions. |

![]() I think your problem after seeing your file is that you have too many frames going on (198). The file you made with iaza is all set to 'no delay' on each frame. I changed every frame but the tongue action to 0.02sec and left the tongue at 0sec (no delay at all). Because it still looks kinda slow the its your animating that's an issue. Less frames and certain frames with 'action' drawn in usually work with this kind of thing. Like action lines on the tongue, for example. I suggest a quick fix be that you remove a sh*tload of frames so the fly moves quickly instead of 2 pixels at a time as you have now. The toungue can be 1 or just 2 frames ? All animation is about timing, ya noes. *All that said your file looks fine and you can let it be too, it works!* http://www.thebest3d.com/dogwaffle/free/ http://www.artoonix.com/en/index.html http://www.jansfreeware.com/jfgraphics.htm#movies http://www.whitsoftdev.com/unfreez/ http://www.callmeandiwillgiveyouamassagetoo.com Edited by jalonso - 22 November 2008 at 11:13pm |
