Pending issues with tiles:
3 zwooll - Adjust tile position
71 WigglyWoo - corner of top blue ledge has a glitch, but can wait for tweaking when your neighbors make their tiles.
66 Jaker Pot - Remember to adjust the lighting on some of the rocks as agreed with your neighbors.
82 Mars Haseugen - I know you were an early tile maker but if you can adjust the lighting on some of the rocks to match your neighbors and define the monster a bit it would be awesome

Inactive tiles:
22 greenraven - 56 alpoter - 58 ultimaodin - 84 LBpixels - 88 WigglyWoo - 97 Paxjah - and 79 kren (extra time to make up for messing you up, but please keep us informed, k)
Nobody expects you guys to rush it or anything, but please keep us informed by posting here. The 2nd post on the first page will always have tile reservations that might be lost, I might not always remember to PM you.

So .. I guess I actually made quite some progress.
anyone here has more pointers?

Oh, I couldn't seem to get the elephants under the "disc" without losing a hell of a lot readability, so I put them on it

@Pandora'sSecret, It's looking much better. Maybe the eyes and mouth are not iso? Notice they seem to be at a different angle from the elephants. The water on the disc is ok but could be just a tad more iso and help everything else 'read' better.

*If it seems to you that your tile is 'attacked' whenever you post one and someone makes an edit just know that its intended as help to you and not a negative thang, k.

E: comment below has good points too, especially about the size of the elephants.

Now, this is much better. While you're at perfecting the tile, I'm gonna tell 4 things.
-For the shell to look more iso, thicken it to the back a bit more (see below)
-Drop some shadow on the shell. (see below)
-The elephants are smaller than Jalonso's horses (added a horse for you to compare) You should make them a bit bigger.
-Pouring water could be an even lighter color, with some whites in it (see all waterfalls on the main pic)

Edit: didn't see Jalonso's post, listen to him, not me :P

Edit2: Thanks for your compliments Jal :)

Another tile going very beautiful. But is is it finished or are you going to work a bit to blend the edge to tile #87. When you're done I'm going to edit mine to blend with yours.

I haven't seen tile 87 yet.. or has it been posted somewhere I'm not aware of?

I'm not sure if it's finished but I am really happy with the result so far. ( which it wouldn't have been if it wasn't for the amazing help i've gotten! )

EDIT

That's looking great!  It'd be nice if it's fight flipper would show just a smidge either above or below the turtle.  Love what you did with the elephant.  Great idea!

@Pandora'sSecret, you've done an amazing job and you should be proud of yourself in your effort
Observations on latest is that while the back leg to be truly isometric wouldn't show it may be a smart thing to take a little creative license and add a piece of it as my edit shows. You can also go back to your old back fin too. Also, will you please take the disc to the edge of your neighbors tile so it meets in the corner or somehow fill that area (red arrows).

The mouth and eye seemed really dark so I made an edit to lighten it. I then discovered you are using 25 colors instead of the 16 in the palette. The 2nd image shows all the areas with wrong colors as red.

I had the same problem with the colors.  I don't know why Graphicsgale changes the colors on me usually by one R value or one G value or one B value.  I mean a value is a value, it should stay that way.

And what happened to the PJ emoticons?

Wow, it's amazing how switch the ramps to 1:1 threw everything around.  Anyway, I am not quite happy with the structure yet but I will play around with the template pieces and post another WIP.

Also, Snider, I think the floating islands could be more ISO.

Edit: Just snap these together and make it fit

Yeah, got a good look at 87,I should have looked better at the tiles numbers... i mistook what you said with #88.. i will try to match better with your tile, however, i am not sure what it is you have on the side, it looks like some kind of grass area with fire pillars.

That should be easy, you can do whatever you like then. A game sub-theme has developed so maybe a game reference could be used there?

@Jal- feel free if to give away my tile if someone else would like it as I'm currently uninstalling things off my old laptop so I can use it solely for pixel art. (At the point in time it takes about 20 seconds for a pixel from a brush to appear.) Don't know how long the whole process will take sorry. T_T

If you choose to give it away I can always select another tile at a later point when I get everything back into order.
The world is but a shadow of emotion, cast in shades of grey.

We'll do that then (#58). I hope you work it all out soon :)

What if we had we chosen one of the other winning palettes?
Of course it would have taken a different direction and palette usage would have changed...just showing for fun

@Jal; that's really some great stuff to see. I don't need to say but it's obvious that Manupix's palette was a close contender. I'm gonna try with the palette that I submitted.

@WigglyWoo; you could do a sunken ship and escaping seamen (from the Kraken). You know, pirates of the caribbean theme. But also your neighbour #95 seems it'll be completed soon. That also might give an idea...

@Jal; I mostly use my tablet for pixelart, i did however put the settings of photoshop to make sure it doesn't AA, or use pressure, and sometimes my mouse.

And i really like the warm vibe Manupix's palette has.
Though DawnBringer's looks "hawt" as well.

@gecimen; I will try to make it more iso..

@Jal: Nice. I suppose you handpicked the replacements? (automatic remapping of my low-saturation palettes usallly results in something greyscale looking). Mmm...Manupix was one of my favourites; but it lacked a brighter green and had a concentration of "skin-colors", also lottsa blue. He would have made a killing if the theme was "Mermaids" :D

It wasn't easy, but yes handpicked. When testing palettes, yours and Manupix easily rose to the top for the given theme. Manupix's orange was the problem shade for me.

@Pandora'sSecret, its not a good thing to compare yourself to others. It is however, a good thing to learn and polish your skills from other people. Your tile is you at your current best and you've worked hard on it. Comparing yourself to yourself is always cool and doing so I'd say you have gone a long, long way to pixelling better and understanding how colors interact in pixelart better than you did just 7 days ago.

No way can LuckyF take your tile from you

Just let me know when you are done with it to the point you are proud and satisfied. In time when all your neighbors are placed you can always revisit the tile and polish it further.

@Lucky, that's one Hawt edit!

So, in light of recent events, elephants are still a big no - no for me, but i made sure the "disc" looks a bit more dense!

I'd still be happy to see edits, so that I can improve it even more.

@Pandora; well this looks better and better each time. The edge of the disc needs some highlights/shadows to prove it's circular. The turtle may go down a bit and show its shell more. The coloumn on the back needs to be darker since it receives no direct light.

Yet again I'm gonna rephrase Jalonso and remind you to stop where you're satisfied. This has already become a great looking tile and will be a worthy addition to the collab. Just don't let yourself get bored with it, and pass on to a new tile with a new theme. This one can wait for you to revisit later on if you wish. I'm a learner like you and I beleive you've improved and will improve much faster than I do, if you keep pixelling.

@Jinn; new tile please!

I think i'm done for now, on this tile.

@ Pandora's Secret - I'll have to agree with Jinn here.  I don't like the columns either.  Maybe make them like stalactites witch don't touch the ground or the turtle.  That flipper should be free.  The columns takes some life away from the turtle.  Great job though.  Love the way this tile has evolved.

@ LuckyF - that's one sick edit of the turtle in the first image.  You're becoming one of my favorite artists.  I don't know.. maybe it's just the style you have, but it's really coming through in this collab.

And yeah,  I've learned so much in this collaboration.   Just seeing how different styles deal with this pallet.   And after jals post of the  pallete winners...sure  it would have gone in different directions with another pallet, but I can easily see why DB's pallete won.  I'm starting to see what unified pallete means.

There, I moved it so it doesn't walk on the tile next to it.
I also change the colors on the altar to match those on the bottom of the anubis temple, I liked the cold metal/stone.

I will add more rumble, but then I don't what to do next ? I 'm sure you have ideas ;)

Before ideas, here's a 5 minute edit to show how I would handle a border tile. You can make better.

-Changed the surrounding to fit the border and your bottom tile.
-Added snow on walls and pillars.
-Lighted the ground area around the crystal.
-Thickened the walls twice.

Other than this you can add worshippers or a janitor to explain why there's no snow on the ground.

Main picture updated :)

@JC Denton, Update is looking great! Will you please move the tile up so the top of the column meets the corner. The way you have it now its forcing your neighbor to have a transparent area in a tile that can't use transparency.

The bottom snow is not looking too good :( try using a3um's snow edge as a reference to finish the bottom off. This will make your tile ace :)

Also note that the alligator hits your tile a little. You need to deal with that by making a piece of it (with shadows) OR a good solution is to place columns over the leg area and not break the columns but leave them for your neighbor to complete, break off, or create a roofed area in case they don't just want to finish the alligator.

If you want some 'life' in your tile, remember it doesn't have to be a human. You could make some animal, like a Wolly Mammoth? or even an animal skeleton?

EDIT: You can also use the alligator to have your tile tell a story. It could explain the destruction of the altar if you bring the tail into your tile...just an idea.
