might i suggest doublesized pixels on the character? this would give:

I dont think that makes it look ripped because both of the lightsourses match up, you see.

Looks incredible, jalonso.
I think the hands could use one more darker shade, or at least some more contrast. And the transition between the black and grey on the pants and the bottom of the shoe looks a little rough... maybe you could add a darker grey shade to smoothen things out.

mo better?

the eyes look weird now and the shoes are too light(or at least the bottom of them are).
other than that, the new one is better.

Yes, the eyes are a mess. Wen I pixel them at half size the looked fine but messed up at double size. I can't quite figure it out yet (studying others galleries).
The colors are messed up for some reason, my psd file looks nothing like these colors. I have the file setup as CMYK since this is for printing, here I post RGB versions and one of my setting is off.
Questions I have:

Does the black outline on the character work?
In this case does the lack of AA on the character look fine?
Does the rope look like a pearl necklace?
Does anyone else think that the hand looks stupid holding the rope?

he looked way better in black.

1. yes, that's the best part of the character.
2. also yes.
3. sort of, but i wouldn't have noticed if you didn't say anything.
4. no, it looks ok IMO.

name of the movie is "for your eyes only" where roger moore(bond) appears dangling of a helicopter in the prologue of the film.

The dude kinda looks like he's awkwardly standing on the roof of the building still. I'd suggest having him higher up i think.

Oh and he needs to be much more visible.

But good progress! Even in the lame situations.

if you have to keep it small then fine, but make it more dynamic.

Also, if he's floating the ladder wouldn't curve as much, imo.. he has to weigh something :P

jalonso, if you ever want to learn to be a good pixel artist you should do your own work! we can't make pixels FOR you, show us something and then we'll tell you if it's good.

The Helicopter idea isn't a good, in my opinion.
I liked the swinging from the rope better.

haha... i just replayed CONTRA the other day, and after saw the ending scene i remembered this. the stuff with the helicopter fliying away and that.

why dont you post the scene itself? without the flames and all the non-NPA stuff? it has it's own merits

Dam, Jal... Nice job! I love the layout, and now find a few of their songs... To see whether the layout actually also fits the sound they make 

I just listened it on myspace  I quite like the sound... It's odd, refreshing, and like many artists I like, overseas and unknown, so the chance of visiting any of them live is small... 

And still I keep on looking at the cover... I have one question... Have they sent you (or have you bought) the CD and your own cover?

Ehh if the birthday's correct in his profile, he's only 12... But really, jal, that's real? If you're doign band covers and signs for airports, I don't really think you're twelve...
