This is some kind of robot,
A little bit inspired by the old school classic Turrican and a little bit by Metroid
In the left hand he's equipped with a rocket launcher, in his right he got a gatling gun

Its not finished of course, please add some c&c

The image uses a total of 15 colors so far

Oh i already know that the rocket launcher looks like crap hehe

You've got way too much happening in your palette. Bring down the colors a bit. It's hard to even see the shading because you're packing those colors along the edge of the highlights. Not every shade has to be in a one pixel thick line to give it depth. It could be brought down to 8 colors or less, I think. By merging the greens and yellow to two colors, having three reds one for highlight, a midtone and shadow and three grays (including the black). It'd also give it more contrast, I'm sure.

The hues seem to be the default hues from Paint and they rarely look good on anything. I think you should choose your own hues and use less saturation as well.

The green one was definitely the easiest to see out of the whole lot.

The new lighter gray one still lacks contrast. Contrast doesn't mean that it's too dark, it just means that there's not enough difference between the shades you're using, which can make it hard to understand what's going on as far as detail is concerned.

8 colors, not bad. I noticed a few similar shades, but better overall. I like the highlight placement, although it seems to have a frowned-upon lightsource.

Much better. I like how you have changed the lightsource to the top. Looks ready for submission. :)
