Hey guys what's up, I'm new here in Pixel Joint

I'm glad to have found this forum, by looking at the artwork archives I can view mind blowingly cool stuff, it's extremely inspiring to me.

So, I just kinda wanted to introduce myself. What really compelled me to join is my current project. A simple C#, XNA game I'm doing the art for. It's basically a pimped out Minesweeper with lots of added stuff and art. But, now that I've finally come this far, I'm glad I

Well, I've decided to do the art in a pixel art style. I've always admired it from afar, but it's time to jump in head first and create some of my own!

I've been addicted to drawing in general for as long as I can remember, but am now a digital graphic artist (most of us have converted over, I'm nothing new). Here's one drawing of mine, just so you can get an idea of my work.

I wanted to ask, what's the best resource to follow in order for an experienced artist to get going on some serious pixel art? I've seen the toots here at Pixel Joint. Do you guys have any advice for me? My ears are wide open.

HOLY sh*t DUDE That drawing is freaking awesome!

I mean -- *ahem!* Welcome to Pixel Joint!

There's loads of different programs you can use for pixel art.  Anything with a pencil tool really, and everyone has their favorites.  I'm an MS Paint guy myself, which just has the basics.  You can use Photoshop or GIMP if you'd rather use those.  There are others out there like Pixia and Graphics Gale that some have recommended as well.  I guess the best way to find out is to try a few and see which one suits your artistic needs best I suppose.

After seeing that drawing, I'm looking forward to some INSANE pixel art coming from you!
